- on BA’s Top 100. #63 on Law’s list. #74 on Mayo’s list.

the whole point of doing this list first
is so people wouldn’t vote for players because of where they got listed by other people. especially mayo!

Agreed
Groupthink once again rears its not too comely head though.

All right,
I get the point. However, what I stated was a fact, not an argument. Now, if you want to say that I was trying to influence the opinions of voters, I was. That’s something that is done here all the time.
I suppose my reason was that I want the list to be as good as possible. It seems pretty unrealisitic not to acknowledge that people pay attention to where players are ranked on other lists. The lists I cited are from people and organizations that evaluate prospects for a living. And while they’re not perfect and you may not agree w them, they’re among the most reputable in the business. These guys do a lot more than look at stats and crunch numbers; they get opinions from many scouts and coaches who see these players play a lot. Few people here talk to scouts and coaches, not to mention to the extent that these people do. That’s the reason to pay attention to the other lists and doing so I think can improve our list. You can pay attention to other lists and still create your own unique list. I thought that was what we were doing.
I get the point. But it could have been made in a more civil fashion.

yeah sorry
i understand there is some merit to considering their opinions. but isn’t our list “better” because we’ll have archer listed so much later than BA?

+1 for Lynn
I think he could be a starter, but both he & Chris Archer have presumably nice fallbacks in short relief. I’ll go with the one that’s more polished in terms of command/control whose stuff looked great in a setup role in 2011.
