2nd: Ross

I’m confident he can return from TJ even better and his natural GB rates with plus FB control should play up in the big, ceiling of a #3. tried to find out more on TT and all I came across was unique delivery / possible bullpen guy, and his walk rate currently isn’t ideal. I like Ross’ upside and was tempted to list him 1st but Gibson should be in the bigs by Aug with an eye at a permanent spot in the rotation come 2013 1.5 years removed from injury.

+1 Vote for Thornburg

Neither of the other two would be anywhere close to me. I’ll go with Kyle Gibson for #2 since I’m at least somewhat familiar with him (seen numerous times & is practically the epitome of potential fourth/fifth starter at absolute most though in my opinion & this was pre-injury).

2nd: Thornburg…. I guess.
BB rate is high, but so is the K rate. He still has something to prove for me to consider him more than a bullpen guy. If he can improve his CB, lower the BB rate and pass the AA test, he might have a shot as a Starter. Until then, I’d take Lance Lynn over him, and he can’t even get out of the Tester pool!
Gibson: Tough to vote for a guy coming off TJ surgery.

In first place votes. About as close as you can get

Voting Closed

1st place votes ended up being 10 for Gibson, 10 for Thornburg, 9 for Ross. It was really close, so I did each possible runoff to see if that clarified the picture.

Thornburg beat Gibson 17-12
Ross beat Gibson 16-13
Ross beat Thornburg 16-13

I think it is fairly obvious that Ross wins this one.
