Charlie Blackmon?

I believe he still has rookie eligibility & I think he might appeal to those who value safety in their prospects. I think he can be a starter though so I might be higher on him than many (I like him more than Tim Wheeler & easily Kyle Parker/Kent Matthes).

For me

Wheeler just jumps out as the obvious choice. Former 1st rounder. Great season in AA. Plus defender as corner OF, maybe servicable in CF.

meh

per BA’s scouting report:

Wheeler has solid speed and has played center field in the minors, but he profiles as a corner outfielder in the majors. He has enough arm for right field and should have average range once he refines his reads and routes.

this sounds to me like 0 runs, maybe +5 at most as a RF defensively. that definitely sounds like right now at least, he’s below average defensively.

i also don’t think his hitting is going to be good enough to carry him. 23 year olds in AA with a 134 wRC+ isn’t anything special, especially since it sounds like he will end up in a corner outfield. he also has some contact issues, which drops him some more for me. looks like a 4th OF type.

Has not hit Lefties

236/322/401 was his line against lefties. I think his upside is limited unless he can improve on those numbers.
