Plus defense at SS to go along with the Carolina League batting title (by over 20 points) in his first full professional season. May not ever walk much or hit for a lot of power, but the combination of elite contact rates and elite defensive value gives him a nice combination of floor and upside.

Matt Szczur will be the next one added
But I’d like to do a re-sort for all the testers not including him…plus any others you think should be added to the main poll very very soon. If people could list their top 3-5 (or more) testers, I’ll come up with a re-sorted list. The current list will still have some weight as it is based on former opinions, but the top 5 candidates from last re-sort will have been added after Szczur gets on, so we should probably take another look at the order.

Lindsay and Cowart have an argument
No way Maronde should be here, first because he is a pitcher, second because he shouldn’t be a tester for the pitchers list any time soon.

Kolten Wong hit 335/401/510 in low A Quad Cities
Of course he did, you say. He’s a polished college product that is supposed to have a quick route to the majors. But keep in mind that Wong was the youngest player on his team not named Taveras. So, if you look at him again, the dude is a second baseman, quite young for his league, who hit a .408 wOBA with solid indicators like a 9.5 BB% and a 10.8 K%. In a world of Jose Altuves and Dustin Pedroias, what’s not to like?
