Minor League Draft FBB Warning!

Hello all, I am taking a player with my last pick in my fantasy draft. The guys I'm considering are:

Wilson Ramos, Josh Reddick, A.J. Pollock, Alex Avila, Anthony Gose, Tyson Gilles, Randal Grichuk, Slade Heathcott, Austin Romine, Jiwan James, Domingo Santana, Zach Stewart, Josh Roenicke, Jared Mitchell, Andrew Cashner, Jay Jackson, Jurickson Profar, Chad James

I have an unhealthy obsession with Gose, and love the BP comment that he might only end up hitting 10-12 HR a year. That, plus 50+ SB sounds pretty good to me. I know Ramos should be the pick here, but...

Anybody have any words to talk me off the ledge?

Reddick

Tore up this spring, a slashing powerful little Cf/Rf who can catch and throw too. I think he’ll crack the Red Sox lineup at some point thisyear as well - Hermida isn’t as good right now, and JD Drew is always close to getting hurt.

You prtobably won’t listen to me but, I think he’d the best ballplayer on your list there

hard to say

Hermida isn’t as good right now, he’s been very good in spring too. .. I think he’ll get first crack at more PT if anyone goes down. I think the change of scenery is gonna do him good. .

Pollock just had surgery

Fractured elbow: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/370601-diamondbacks-lose-prospect-to-injury

Mitchell is out for the year already, tore his ankle pretty badly. I’d take them both off your list.

I would then eliminate Roenicke (RP), Grichuk (one dimensional and far away), Romine (JAG for me) and James (blah).

Santana and Profar sure are interesting. In fact I just spent a fairly early pick on Profar in my dynasty league on Sunday. Not sure you want to go that far away, though. Profar won’t even make his full season debut until ‘11. It wouldn’t stop me, but you should be aware those guys are far away.

I think the choices come down to Ramos, Reddick, Stewart, Gose, Jay Jackson and Chad James. I’d probably lean towards the three pitchers: Stewart, Jackson and James. Not sure I have a strong preference there. Probably go Stewart, James and then Jackson. I’m not at all a Ramos fan and he’s very blocked in fantasy. I don’t see him as anywhere close enough to an impact talent to draft him there.

I’d strongly consider Stewart if I were you.

easy top 3 for me

Avila, Stewart, Jay Jackson in that order. Not a huge Reddick fan. Why would Ramos be the obvious choice?

My thoughts

I’m going to take a closer look at Reddick and Stewart for sure. It’s an OPS/SLG league, so Reddick scares me a bit (Gose does as well). I dig high ceiling guys and don’t mind waiting on Profar/Santana. I hit big on Geovany Soto 2 years ago, so Avila is still an option. I thought Ramos was the easy choice b/c both BA and BP like him a lot and he should be easy to sell at the trade deadline. He also mashed in the winter league. I have Desmond Jennings, Jesus Montero, and to a lesser extent Brad Lincoln and Nick Weglarz ready to play if they get called up and I need them, though my MLB roster has lots of quality. I knew of Mitchell’s injury but hadn’t seen Pollack’s. Thanks for the input everyone…

Then I'd go Profar.

He’s the highest on my top 100 and the highest ceiling player IMO.
