Jared Mitchell could miss the entire season

Jared Mitchell tore the tendon on the inside of his left ankle during Friday's 10-7 victory over the Angels at Tempe Diablo Stadium after running into the left-field wall to make a catch. He will have surgery next week, and his recovery time will be set at that point.

That spectacular catch took place on a ball hit by Juan Rivera for the first out of the sixth inning after Mitchell had entered the game as a defensive replacement.

"Very, very bad," said manager Ozzie Guillen of the injury. "Hopefully, it's not the worst thing about it. He has to use his speed and everything. It's a shame. He [was having] a good Spring Training.

that sucks

doesn’t affect him too much as a prospect imo… unless his speed never is affected…

Probably not

But I hate to hear someone injure themselves on a spectacular play during an exhibition game.

i think anything below the majors is, at best, a glorified exhibition.

so that’s why it wouldn’t matter to me. if it’s a major league player, perhaps different.

I believe alskor prefers Jacob Turner.

I put Jacob ahead on my top 100, but its a dead heat!

I’m trying to avoid making jokes of the “So and so player on my most disliked team is awesome!” variety, as they’re essentially wishing someone gets hurt.
