Ike Davis for 2010?

Yeah yeah...spring doesnt mean anything, but Davis had a great showing. Based on the laughable options the Mets are running out there to start the season what are the chances that Davis is brought up and given a shot as anything more than a September call up?

decent

he hit great this spring and in AZ, but he has some work to do on his defense. I think he had 3 errors this spring. I think that is what they are looking for him to work on the most.

that said if the Mets are falling out of contention he may be brought up tp try and sell tix, otherwise why would people come out. It also depends on how well Murphy is playing.

Daniel Murphy sprained his knee yesterday

Minaya said that if Murphy’s injury looks like a long-term thing, they’ll bring Davis up.

Likely

I expect he’ll be up by around the all-star break. Defense is already good and the bat has been improving rapidly. He’s probably already better than Murphy, but they’ll want him to get a couple hundred PA in AAA before throwing him in there against MLB pitching.
