Schedule Update
Here are items we have in the works here at Minor League Ball.
This Weekend: Prospect Retro/Career Profile for Ryan Braun and Miguel Montero
Monday: Prospect Smackdown: Jameson Taillon vs. Taijuan Walker
Wednesday: Prospect Smackdown: Manny Banuelos vs. Martin Perez
Friday: Prospect Smackdown: Manny Machado vs. Jurickson Profar
Obviously there will be stuff on Tuesday and Thursday as well but I haven't decided what they will be yet. We also hope to have some fantasy content from Ray Guilfoyle and draft content from Matt Garrioch. Matt and I are also plotting out plans for a co-mock draft soon, so stay tuned on that.

Is there an All Questions Answered thread coming up in the future?
The bird is struggling out of the egg. The egg is the world. Whoever wants to be born, must first destroy a world.

Would like to see your take
on Machado v. Profar from a fantasy perspective (5×5 league) or possibly you would like to turn it into a new segment working with John? Let John do the player evaluation and your thoughts on the fantasy signficance in the Smackdown. Just an idea.

I don't
want to steal John’s thunder since he is covering them on Friday. I will leave it up to John if he wants me to add to his piece.

That's what I'm saying
Wait until John’s completed his assessment, then give your ‘fantasy’ assessment for the smackdown, since John is more concerned about overall baseball ability (glove, etc.) and your fantasy assessment of the players would be a compliment to this (and not stepping on toes), imo.

Idea
Why don’t you continue with the “The Next Craig Kimbrel” concept? Have a piece on a SP, OF and INF (or each infield position if you really want to get into it). Talk about some players that you foresee stepping into a starting role this year and keeping it going forward. Follow the same structure as the Kimbrel piece (i.e. Part 1 is no MLB experience, part 2 is minimal). I thought the Kimbrel piece was interesting and got some pretty solid banter going on the site. Opinions were shared without a flame war, which is quite the accomplishment.

6X6
I would love to see something on who you think are bargains in the standard 6X6 format (OPS/K:BB). The player raters at the major sites don’t include those stats in their algorithms and I am unaware of a smaller site that gives that info either. The lack of information leaves a lot of equity out there. Any insight into unlikely places we can go grab that equity would be great.

I added a new writer over at Fake Teams this offseason, Kevin Boger, who is covering Head to Head Points league rankings, which I have linked here:

Trevor May
I just read this on Fangraphs about May: “However, one is forced to wonder how his stuff will play at the higher levels as he works up in the zone with a good, but not great fastball paired with an inconsistent curveball which flashes as a big-league pitch.” I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on this, John.

Your smackdowns extremely disappointed me John
I was sure they would be a literal smackdown, where we pit two prospects against each other and the last man standing is deemed the better prospect. In all seriousness I’m really looking forward to the Perez/Banuelos, Banuelos has seemed to cause a lot of disagreement so i’m curious on how he stands with you.
Down 2 in the bottom of the ninth?

Could you do some Mets v. Yankees smackdowns?
Like maybe Campos/betances vs. Familia or Harvey/Wheeler vs. Banuelos etc.
