Need some help on trade involving Harper... (changed it up a little bit to the people who voted for the other pole)
I am in a 24 team keeper league and I have been offered this:
I get: Harper Tyler matzek
I give: Beckett Archie bradley
You have to have 6 pitchers in my league and my pitchers so far are greinke Beckett, nolasco, hocevar, matusz, and navy guerra. You have to have 3 outfielders in the league and I have kemp, rios, and andres torres. If I made the trade my 6th starter would have to be homer bailey or kevin correa... Should I do the deal? Or I could do the deal and then trade Shelby miller for a Starting Pitcher or closer so my last pitcher wouldn't be bailey... Please leave in comments what kind of pitcher I should target on return for miller.
Another reason why I didn't accept the trade immediately is because I think my team can really compete this year and losing Beckett might hurt my chances... Please help me and any comments are appreciated...

if you're in it this year
you can always trade Harper later for a lot more than Beckett and Bradley. You can get two stud starters back at the deadline from a team that’s out of it. Always take premium players if somehow they become available by a dumb owner.

please please please
Do not use text speak in a fanpost. For the love of all that is holy (and for the sake of the rest of us) take the 10 extra seconds to type out full words, especially when those words are only 3 or 4 letters long. I won’t comment on the trade because, honestly, I have no idea what you were trying to ask.

this is a silly question
Harper is a generational talent - a potential 40 home run hitter who will even give you 15-20 sb’s for a few years too. he’s jose bautista or pujols, only you get him cheap (assuming you use caps). would you give beckett and archie to have pujols as a 19 year old? ummm yeah.
to put it in prospective - i just took over a team that is in shambles from somone else and gave up corey hart, gio, wainwright, bonifacio and two #1’s for the bryce. i think that’s a little closer to his value.

Depends on the league's structure
If it has contracts and salaries it could be worth it. I know in one league I play in Wainwright takes up over 10% of your payroll all by himself, while you could conceivably sign Harper to a deal that would allow you to pay him less than 1% of your payroll for each of the next 4 years before you have to restructure.

i probably overpaid compared to his perceived value.
but my team isn’t doing ANYTHING for 2-3 years, at least. what will hart be in 3 years? not much. bonifacio’s only value is sb’s and maybe runs and those could fall considerably with him not being in the leadoff spot and with new manager.
essentially two pitchers and 2 1sts for a guy who could/should hit 40 bombs a year for the next 10 years that i will have locked up cheap?? i paid a lot, but i’ll take that allllll day long.

keep in mind
he gas generational hype and that adds up to nothing. I doubt he will ever be Pujols or Bonds - actual generational talents. 40 HR a year is Adam Dunn, it’s the .300+ AVG that makes a player great. I know a lot of people tag Harper as a high average guy but it is far from given.

i can lock harper up to less than 1/2 of 1% of my payroll for 5 years after whenever i choose to bring him up
which will probably be next year.
