Okay, some names and general thoughts about my first two picks (slots 28 and 29):
I'm generally looking at arms more than bats for these first two picks, as I think the pitching is looking slightly stronger in this range than the position players. Picking one of each makes sense but if I do double-down, it will most likely be pitching. This is the first part of this MOD. Mod 2.5 explores the arms I like in this range.
BATS
I'm very high on Will Craig. I doubt he falls this low but if he does, he will probably fall no lower than my picks. Nolan Jones also falls no lower than the Nats but surely he will be gone?
I'm very torn on the following guys: Buddy Reed (perhaps he is being undervalued now but I recognise the hitting issue), Bryan Reynolds (solid choice but I need to be confident he can stick in centre), Anfernee Grier (liking the power increase and good athlete but still have some concerns about the hit tool) and Josh Lowe (great potenial but difficult to gauge how the tools will translate at the moment). Out of these guys, I'm highest on Lowe but he's also the most likely to already be off the board.
I like the following to some degree but probably not enough for these picks: Will Benson, Alex Kirilloff, Taylor Trammell and Joe Rizzo.
