Here is my Braves shadow draft for this year. I'm operating as though I have $13.9M to spend- the amount the Braves can spend before getting the draft pick penalties. 1-Riley Pint I like Anderson quite a bit but Pint is growing on me more and more. I'm assuming he will cost 5 mil here so it's only a slight raise from Anderson. 1-Nolan Jones I like his bat a lot on the left side of the infield. I'm assuming he's a 2 mil guy instead of Wentz's 3+ mil 2-Brandon Marsh Marsh is loaded with raw upside and I couldn't pass him up. At around 1.6 mil he's cheaper than Muller too 2-Jesus Luzardo Gambling that the uptick in his stuff was real to go with his pitchability. A 1.7 mil guy putting me at 10.3 mil 3-Nolan "Nonie" Williams I love his upside and think 1.3 mil may get it done. That's 11.6 mil 4-Kyle Funkhouser There's plenty of upside and he did improve as the season went on. Because he doesn't have a ton of leverage I'm thinking 1.5 mil taking me to 13.1 mil 5-Will Stillman I'm taking an additional senior than the Braves because I think I'm getting close to capped out. It's all seniors in 5-10. I'm thinking 200k gets it done taking me to 13.3 mil. That's a little wiggle room and potentially some money for 11-40. I like Stillman's stuff as a reliever 6-Matt Gonzalez Local senior with some untapped power potential. He's got utility potential. A real Braves pick 7-JB Moss Moss is another Braves senior pick. Some ability to hit and run 8-Taylor Hyssong Another real Braves pick with upside as a reliever and a senior 9-Tyler Neslony Neslony has some pop and as a senior and real Braves pick 10-Kevin LaChance Another senior that I like more than Mooney 11-Trevyne Carter Carter is a local prep kid who was considered signable and has upside 12-Matthew Gorst Local relief prospect who had a strong year at GT 13-Reggie McClain Another senior who could be a backend guy 14-Ramon Osuna Osuna had some great JUCO numbers and power. A real Braves pick 15-Mitchell Traver Lots of upside here but injuries have hurt him. Taking a chance he just wants to get his pro career started 16-Josh Anthony A real Braves pick with good power and speed combo. May be a tough sign as an Auburn commit 17-Hunter Melton Big senior first baseman with power will join the system 18-Zach Rice Should be a signable reliever as he was kicked off UNC team. A real Braves pick 19-Eric Filia UCLA senior bat with some remaining upside and a senior 20-Clate Schmidt Clemson senior pitcher who had a solid career and great makeup 21-LJ Kalawaia Productive senior outfielder worth taking a chance on 22-Troy Rallings Senior reliever 23-Reynaldo Rivera Power prospect originally from Puerto Rico probably not signable 24-Mike Garzillo A senior second baseman with power 25-Ryan Fucci Senior who could profile as a quality fourth outfielder 26-Dion Henderson Prep arm with upside. Probably a longshot to sign 27-Parker Bugg LSU relief arm. A junior that may be signable here 28-Daniel Sweet Productive senior outfielder with some upside 29-Geoffrey Bramblett Junior starter from Bama may be tough to sign here 30-Montana Parsons Promising JUCO arm with upside is a fallback if others don't get signed 31-Adam Laskey I really like Laskey's upside and he's my first attempt to sign if someone in the first 4 rounds can't get signed 32-Jeff Belge Another upside prep arm that's a backup option money wise 33-Connor Owings Senior outfielder with bloodlines 34-Nick Yarnall Senior outfielder 35-Zach Hess Son of Karl Hess is a longshot to sign 36-Andres Perez Son of Eddie Perez not likely signable 37-Troy Bacon Arm with some upside but not likely signable here 38-Brent Rooker One more productive senior bat for the system 39-Kyle Serrano Likely unsignable here 40-Deaundre Roberts Upside prep arm won't be signable here
