Evening Update
**Mock Scouting Directors should post a link to their current MOD in this Fanpost thread. This will make it a lot easier to keep track of the most current MOD. Thanks to board member mrkupe for posting this.
**Do you guys like the new Morning/Afternoon notes feature? They don't always get many comments so I am unsure if it is popular or not.
**Rough Schedule of upcoming Retros/Not a Rookies: Carlos Marmol, Brendan Ryan, Ryan Sweeney, Andre Ethier, Mark Ellis, Shaun Marcum, Nick Punto, Hong-Chih Kuo. I am also planning sophomore updates on Mat Latos and Elvis Andrus, in addition to more draft stuff.

Personally, I enjoy the brief notes even more than the prospect retros, but that could just be me.
I tend to enjoy content more when it’s on current prospects and not MLB players, though, and the notes are great for that, especially since they encompass multiple spects.

yes
Yes, the point of this is supposed to be “Minor League Ball” and player development. I use the retros as case studies of development, but I also am trying to get back to a more “this is what is going on in the minors” orientation.

Well, that's the thing
What’s the alternative to the updates? I mean, I love them, and if the alternative is more MLB player content, then absolutely, stick with the updates. But if you have another minors-oriented idea that the updates are preventing you from attempting… I dunno, maybe there’s a better possibility out there.
And I’m only saying this because, sometimes, the updates are just recent significant statistical performances, which could be pointed out to me already by FirstInning or even the MiLB threads here. I still value them more than just about any of the MLB pieces, but if you have another idea for “this is what is happening in MiLB” content, it could be worth pursuing, too.

Another thought quick
Reading through that again, I may have worded it so that it seems as I was calling the usefulness of the updates into question. That wasn’t my intention, as obviously the real value in them is your putting those statistical breakouts that we may already be aware of into perspective with your own opinions. My point was just to ask if you had another idea of how you could do that.

Although I do still like the idea of pieces on historical players.

I enjoy the debates like the Posey vs. Sanatana one. They generate good discussion and they are always fun.

I enjoyed reading through the discussion there.
Meg: Everybody! Guess what I am?
Stewie: Hmm, the end result of a drunken back-seat grope-fest and a broken prophylactic?

I enjoy these and the updates. Personally I don’t enjoy the prospect retros.

Keep the morning and evening updates
I am a very big fan of it. I read everyone of them and enjoy them. I dont post comments in them but to be honest those are probally my favorite in season pieces that you do. Only thing I like reading more are your top 20’s on each team in the offseason.

Depends
Almost depends on the time of year for me. This time of year draft discussions and “Wake up and your the GM” threads are interesting. Offseason, I like the Crystal ball. Ever think of having a contest of some sort where you guess the prospect (make it hard) and you can win a book next year or predict the top 10 draft picks in order - something to that effect? You dabbled with that a little with you can pick the retro and the interest was quite high. Would like to see something on Jamie Garcia; very impressed with him. Did you think he would excel this fast after TJS?

updates are the best
and I like Not a Rookie’s much more than Retros, since the Not a Rookie Features are usually on players in their first or second year in the bigs, and have still lots of projection left for use to speculate about.
