I think Jair Jurrjens is the first arm to go if they do end up making a move

He’s a Boras client and still has a lot of value. I just don’t see them dealing away one of the big three young arms in their system.

I think he’s thrown 2 changeups that were both eye level.

I was so excited about this being a rapid-fire breaking story

Until I realized that it was about the possibility of Jacob Arrieta possibly being used as a middle reliever for a last place team.

He was an 8th round pick in the 2008 draft for the Phils out of Puerto Rico. He got added to the Lakewood roster after Jonathan Pettibone was injured. He’s responded pretty well to it so far.

he has a .795 OPS currently

Of course, he’s in the Cal League and he’s never posted anything close to that before. He’d be draft eligible this year if he had gone to college . . .where would he go?

His tools are still pretty average, and he’s shifted to 3B now as a pro.
