Don’t really like either in this spot, though.

Not a fan of him in this spot, but I have him a bit above Hudson

I really like Hudson, and he might be safer, but he doesn’t have enough upside for me to pick him over Moore here. Tbh, I think both guys are on too early, but obviously, a huge portion of folks don’t.

When I hear people say Daniel Hudson doesn't have enough upside
I feel like they don’t know what they’re talking about.
by Daniel Berlyn on Jan 20, 2026 4:10 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
He does have upside
I just think Moore’s is greater.
by blindsided789 on Jan 20, 2026 4:24 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
yes
not to mention far less likely to reach it.

On that note...
Why isn’t Michel Ynoa on this list yet?
by PissedMick on Jan 20, 2026 8:00 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I would vote Ynoa fairly soon I think
Not that soon, but still… Im probably one of very few.

Not pitching in all of '09
elbow questions, etc. He’s got a massive ceiling, but the likelihood that he makes it to the bigs and is actually servicable in the bigs right now is slim as hell.
I don’t even really see him as top 100 until he logs any pro innings.

It was a bit of a flippant reply...
to the people who voted for Moore because of perceived greater upside.
by PissedMick on Jan 20, 2026 10:02 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
eh, not a really good comparison.
Ynoa hasn’t done anything yet, whereas Moore had a pretty excellent year for a young left hander. Yes, he could use better control, but as many have pointed out before, he improved in that department as the year went on.
I’s not really perceived greater upside, either. The fact is, Moore has better upside than Hudson. But the question is about him reaching it. Either Hudson or Moore is a perfectly acceptable choice, I would say.

Moore and Hudson in the SAL
I voted Moore, and Hudson only had about 24 sally league innings, but I found this interesting.
Hudson k/bb per 9 12.27/.82
Moore k/bb per 99 12.88/5.12
Hudson then continued to pitch well up the ladder in high A, AA, AAA and even the majors.
Nevertheless, I went with Moore. I have some concern that Hudson may have gotten a little lucky, some low babips at some stops, and that he may become homer prone. Gave up 3 in limited mlb time, and 15 his last year in college. That may seem like grasping at negative straws. He certainly showed much better command with almost as high a k rate as Moore in the Sally. Still went with Moore, which may seem ridiculous given Hudson’s higher level success.

Hudson is/was older and more polished
His stuff isnt in the same class as Moore’s. Also, Moore still has projection while many feel Hudson pretty much is what he is.
by alskor on Jan 20, 2026 4:51 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
agreed
Which is why I voted Moore. But that’s still a lot of projection for his walk rate to come close to what Hudson did in, say, AA last year. The Rays bring guys along slowly. Hudson is 2 years older. Will Moore be k’ing 10 per game and walking less than 2 in AA in 2 years? Well, not like he has to to be succesful.
Anyway, I did cede to the general scout opinion on Moore’s projection over Hudson’s polish, plus he is lefty.

I cannot seem to get myself to vote for either guy
It’s way too early for either one.
Hudson has a limited upside, and Moore still has some significant control issues to work through.
FWIW, I have Hudson ranked #48 and Moore #58 on my personal top 100. So I guess that means I should be voting for Hudson.
