+1 Casey Kelly
With a fastball that sits between 90-93, and plus secondary offerings and plus command, he reached High A at 19 years old. He put up pretty solid numbers too.
BA ranked his fastball, curve, change up and command as the best in the Sox’s system. Jim Callis also said you could flip flop between Westmoreland and Kelly as to which one should be the number one prospect. Wth all the love for Westmoreland, I don’t see how Kelly can be that far behind him.
He dials up to 93-94. As he fills out and now that he’s dedicating himself to pitching full time, i think he can add some velocity.
by MightyMoose on Jan 16, 2026 6:10 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
he might be better than anyone on the list right now
i’m still deciding who to vote for though. a lot of these guys are pretty close in my mind, and there isn’t any prospect that i think really deserves this spot. i guess we are probably in a tier where a lot of pitching prospects should get on in a row. I’m not sure which hitting prospect I like most. None really appeal to me. I probably like Brett Wallace the most of the hitters left, but I’d like at least 5 pitchers to go before him, maybe more.

I might like a pitchability guy more than a future below average 1st baseman too.

sounds like you have a pretty strong bias - care to back that up with some analysis?
by Los Gueros on Jan 16, 2026 11:16 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
i don't have a strong bias
only 11.7 percent of people thought very differently from me last poll. 2/3 of those votes were fans of his team or owned him in fantasy leagues. i don’t think i need to back up the standard position. i think his supporters need to show that he is very likely to be a very good overall major league player. i don’t think they have much of a case, but you never know…maybe those few supporters can convince the rest of the followers of minor league baseball that they have it all wrong.
by auclairkeithbc on Jan 17, 2026 3:12 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I like Kelly a lot
but I can’t put him ahead of Crosby. Crosby was excellent coming back from TJS and has great velocity as a LHP. Pure ace potential with Crosby, not that Kelly might not be able to reach that but if I’m betting on one of them I’m going with the lefty.

This will need the full 24 hours.
Maybe there will end up being a run-off, but to do that, there would have to be a pretty sizable gap between #2 and #3. It takes a lot of time, but also when the winner has less than 20% support, it is tough to really say that is the community consensus.
by auclairkeithbc on Jan 17, 2026 11:11 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Mejia and Alonso
might be headed for a run-off. they are tied at 14. turner and freeman are tied for 3rd place with 9. i think a run-off could be very interesting. lots of extra votes that could go either way.
by auclairkeithbc on Jan 17, 2026 2:33 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think it is time for a run-off
I personally don’t like Alonso here, but he is only 2 votes behind Mejia and Alonso has 5 more votes than the 3rd place player right now (16-14-9). This way, we can see which player has a lot of general support, and which just the support of that player’s big fans.
