Andrew Cashner
So I see he's averaging over 102+mph so far in spring training. Not bad.
I don't remember him ever getting much prospect attention. Not 1% the attention Chapmon has gotten anyway. Where would he be in the SD top 20?

He got a fair amount of attention
not chapman-esque levels, i guess, but Cashner was well-regarded for several years, particularly in 2010, when he was looking like a potential quality starter, working deeper into games, carrying his stuff deeper, and showing 3 above average, 2 plus, pitches then.
If he was prospect eligible (he isn’t), and if his health checked out, I would definitely have him in the Padres Top 5, but others may disagree. If he’s healthy, though, he could be lights out dominant out of the pen, imo.

yea
Toons knows cash$ well, and I have also been very high on him since 09. I still love the arm, just not his shoulder. I think he will be a late inning weapon for years to come, but in all likelihood his days as a starter are through. Street is on a one year deal and I could see cashner closing in 2013.

I agree here.
I see Cash as a potential top-10 MLB closer in his best years, and he and Brad Boxberger should be a pretty sexy 8th/9th inning combo in SD for quite awhile. The way they got two great SP prospects out of Adams only to retool their bullpen with other deals was pretty impressive.
