I am sticking with my prediction that the Cardinals win it in seven games, but tonight Texas will be victorious by an 8-3 score.

Birdinals in 6, they win 6-4 tonight. Lewis gets lit up for all 6 runs.

Why do you hate to say it?

As a Cardinals fan, I’m curious about all the hate the Cards seem to get in a lot of fanbases. Is it mostly just because everyone hates La Russa, or are there other reasons?

The reason i think yoou guys are kinda hated is because everybody was like o Philles duh, then Brewers duh, and now you guys make it in and there is really no story line its just like What the hell St. Louis. But i dont hate you guys i love Carpenter, and im a fan of Berkman.

TLR hate for me

Never been a fan of the persona or the bitching. I actually like a lot of the players (most, really), especially the freese and Craig types discussed in the STL Top 20 thread. Molina is a little tightly wound for me (his reaction after Kinsler’s SB last night was ridiculous) and Carp is a total red-ass on par with Clemens. I love competitiveness (say, Smoltz), but bawling out your teammates on the field is beyond the pale and a dick move.

I was rooting for Jaime Garcia though, and was really glad he got to show off his stuff on a national stuff. Great little pitcher. Love the Cardinal ’pen too. Salas has been a revelation, Motte brings it, and the addition of Dotel and Rzep was a great move by Mozeliak. No one likes getting beaten by guys like Punto, Schumaker or Descalso (or Vina, Eckstein, Bo Hart, Brenda Ryan. etc.) but give the Cards credit for surrounding their stars with fundamentally soudn role players.

No, if not for TLR I’d barely have a problem with them, and I say that as a Reds fan.
