Rank the Farm Systems for the Minor League Ball Fantasy League

Hey everybody!

Since we've got this here Minor League Ball Fantasy Baseball League this year, I thought it might be fun for everyone to see what each team has as far as minor league players go since this is.... you know.. a minor league baseball website. I don't know how to post every team's minor leaguers in an orderly fashion in a post here so I just put together a Google Doc spreadsheet with each team's dudes....

Remember, our rosters go something like this: 23 active players / 6 reserve players / 2 DL slots / 6 minor league slots. Now, a lot of teams are using their reserve slots on minor leaguers & some teams are actually using their active slots on minor leaguers... Needless to say, those teams aren't doing so well.... Also, we get to keep 16 players for next year. That includes the youngsters...

Anyway, here's the link for the Google Doc spreadsheet. Also keep in mind that the standings and such are located here... Some of us with.. shall we say.. less than stellar minor leaguers are (hopefully) putting forth the effort to win this year!

I fully expect each and every one of you to be brutally harsh with your critiques...

Wait... I gotta go.. Cody Johnson just struck out again & Caleb Gindl is having trouble getting on the roller coaster at Six Flags again...

If Trevor Cahill qualifies

Then Derek Holland should as well, right?

I’ll take Cahill out..
Thanks for finding that.

tell me about it

I laugh everytime too, as I cannot field a lineup, but I was so disgusted with my auto draft i conceded now and can only hope for the future. It is fun to have heyward and J Up though , I must confess!!!

hmm

On sheer quantity you’d have to go with JMac, but it doesn’t really take much to just stack a team with a bunch of prospects and leave it at that. He has 10 more minor leaguers alone than keeper slots, to say nothing of the few guys he’ll want to keep from the major league team.

I’d rather take the per-player return . . .and not to toot my own horn, but I’d take mine.

well...

I will just suck it up and keep max amount of players off my major roster( just means I wont be keeping major league talent as major league keepers per say ). So yes I suck now and probably again next yr, but ill be able to sit on all the spects I choose to keep :) and hope for the best. LOL

oh yeah

I know, I’m sure you’ll be keeping as many of those guys as you can . . .

It just means that you’ll probably have a few guys who are pretty good, a decent number of league average guys, and some filler. Could be worse.

Keeper Limit

Really devalues prospects in this league, I think. That’s why I (BatCats) am only sticking with 4-6. I’m pretty happy with my list as they could all contribute next year, save for Shelby Miller. And sky’s the limit for that kid, so I’ll run with it for now.

yeah

I didn’t take anybody that I didn’t think had at least a solid chance of making a major league roster sometime in the next two years, if not sooner. The only exception is Daryl Jones; I’m not sure how I ended up with him but he’s still a toolsy guy who is young enough to make a leap . . .and if nothing else, I might just drop him sometime soon and add somebody else that I like.
