I’m not a huge fan of either, but Moustakas has a gorgeous swing that’s going to play really well.

What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.

Barf and double barf. But I’m pretty sure the lesser of two evils isn’t the one who OPSed less than .300 in the low minors last year.

My vote's been Brett for awhile, but
why Brett over Mike? First off, I’m not in the camp that is really, really down on Mike. I think he should be on around here. I think Brett should’ve been on awhile ago, so this isn’t really a consideration for me (still a bit shocked Vitters made it on before not only Brett, but Mike as well).
That said, it’s hard to make the case that Mike is more advanced than Brett coming off of 2009. Brett’s power potential isn’t that much off Mike’s - Mike may have more raw power but it isn’t by that much. Indeed, the case has been made that Brett’s power potential may be close to Vitters, and no one really doubts Vitters power. Brett plays CF and is more than likely going to not only stick there, but be a strong CF. It’s not as if Mike has some sort of discipline advantage on Brett, and Brett does have positive enough reports on his discipline and strike zone awareness (yes, that has to manifest itself in his numbers, but there are positive reports).
At the end of the day, potential 5-tool CF (arm is debatable) or slugging 3rd baseman? Brett should definitely see AA at some point this year - Mike probably will. Dunno … is the fact that Moustakas was at A+ last year enough to outweigh the difference?

I don't know why there is an implication that Moustakas is a bad defender.
He was a former shortstop, and to this point the defensive data points to him being exceptional at third base. Unless he starts growing even more (I think all the growing he did required him to move off of SS, and I don’t expect more, at least not enough to significantly impact his defense.) Quite frankly I call it a defensive wash, and I don’t quite believe in that kind of power potential for Brett. I’m pretty high on Mike, though, and I would be even higher on him had his raw numbers been a little better (he was unlucky last year). Not to say I don’t like Brett (I’m starting to seriously consider him on my top 100 and I’m on 78 funilly enough), but I feel there is enough going for Moose in past scouting reports and current numbers to warrant his spot now.

well
the scouting consensus seems to be that Moose is just OK at third. apparently has impressed this spring thanks to improving his body over the winter. but we’ll see how it translates to the games this summer. been working with Joe Randa the past year or so.
can’t wait to see how he does at AA this year.
and i’m voting for Jackson! ha! Moose is next for me, so a couple spots difference don’t mean much to me.

I never suggested he was a bad defender
but a corner infielder, as good as his defensive ability might be, isn’t comparable to a stud defensive CF. I do believe that there have been some lukewarm reports on his defense, but I’m simply going by positional value there. I don’t know - I’d take a Mike Cameron-esque defensive player (which is a fair defensive comp for Brett based off what we know now) with 20-25 HR power over a corner IF, unless said corner IF had an absolutely amazing bat, which I’m not sure Moustakas does.
Guess most people think otherwise, though. Still not sure how Brett is sliding. The only argument has been that there hasn’t been enough data, which to me, isn’t a solid enough argument when people are voting high school guys on rather early.
