Tate
I think he’s BPA of those listed, but I’m guessing more positional assets is probably the preference.

Wheeler
If the real draft were to go this way picks 1-5, Sabean will take Wheeler at #6. But somehow (Grant Green), the real draft probably won’t go this way.

Wheeler will go much farther down on the community mock.
Mainly because his name doesn’t have the hype that the other prep pitchers have. It’s a shame, because he could have the best career of any of them.

If Tate goes #6 to the Giants...
You can book Wheeler to the Braves.

Your comment below isn't a reason why.
It’s just saying that you like Matzek more. And Matzek’s done nothing to prove he’s undeniably better.

Have read Giants are interested in either a college player or polished HS pitcher. College player could be the falling Grant Green and the HS pitcher could be Zack Wheeler. Tanner Scheppers should get consideration if medical staff finds no red flags.

this is...
the reason y i have mattzek going to the giants if the draft shakes out this way. giants seem to take HS pitchers a lot lately.

but remember...
they have success with college pitchers too (Lincecum) and recently they have picked college hitter (Posey, Gillaspie, Kieschnick, Crawford in 2008). The main draft with a surplus of HS players taken early on was 2007 when they had 6 first round (including comp. round) picks and took 5 HS players + Jackson Williams. To me, they could go any direction, but their drafts seem to have trends going on looking primarily at the first 5 round.
06 - College players (2 position players, 3 pitchers and Clayton Tanner (only HS guy))
07 - HS players (4 position players, 2 pitchers and Jackson Williams (only college guy))
08 - College players (4 position players, 1 pitcher)

Suggestion
Andy, the community mocks are great but we don;thave time to give each round 48 hours. I think the vast majority of interested parties here make their vote within the first 24 hours. The draft is in 30 days. After this pick is done, we have 26 more for the first round.
I switch you shift the votes to 24-hour windows starting with the 7th pick.
