Which in consideration of age-gate, seems a bit, um, high

haha

wow you gave me an exact number.

did you actually go to 2000? i applaud yr dedication sir. that is staggering

by daveh33 on Feb 19, 2026 1:57 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

1535 so far

but I have a pretty good size list I have yet to place into the rankings. I believe most of these guys will be outside of the top 1000.

by garrioch13 on Feb 20, 2026 4:10 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I like it too

There’s no reason to get too worked up about the rankings. It’s a nice compilation of the Who’s Who in minor league baseball.

Great work, garriock. I can’t even imagine the time and thought that was put into them.

Give us the rest of the rankings. I would love to see them.

by sdbaseballfan on Feb 18, 2026 11:48 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

thanks

I have spent a lot of time on compiling a list and ordering it. It is far from perfect and I could move someone up or down everytime I scroll through it. Just thought it would be fun to see others reactions.

Feliz at number 26 behind Andrus at 16...really?

also Eric Hurley is toast with rotator cuff surgery, and your really underating Wilfredo Boscon 245.

"It doesn't look like he's trying. It kinda pisses me off," "He could throw 110 if he tried. The way it explodes out of his hand is really something special." ~ B-Mac on Feliz.

by Kinslerhomer on Feb 18, 2026 10:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Feliz

I love Feliz but I think Andrus will have a long MLB career. Maybe not as high of a peak as Feliz, but a more consistent player.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:06 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Still, thats way to low for Feliz.

"It doesn't look like he's trying. It kinda pisses me off," "He could throw 110 if he tried. The way it explodes out of his hand is really something special." ~ B-Mac on Feliz.

by Kinslerhomer on Feb 19, 2026 8:52 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah good catch

could really be in the mid 100’s… I’m no John Sickels. Just did this for fun.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:11 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

not as high as most on him

Could be a Bobby Crosby type, which isn’t bad. Could be higher

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:12 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

feliz at 27

with cahill and anderson at 4 and 5 is a joke. there is no rhyme and reason for that and you are wasting internet space lol.

by jsmall404 on Feb 18, 2026 10:46 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just my opinion

I think both of these guys have ace quality, as does Feliz. I just have more faith in the 2 a’s.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:08 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

lol jack mcgreary ahead of jordan zimmerman

thats the last thing i am posting on this..just a waste of time

by jsmall404 on Feb 18, 2026 10:51 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I bet

Mcgeary has a better career when all is said and done.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:13 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i agree with that sentiment

mcgeary is extremely under-rated now, but should shoot up lists when he officially drops out of stanford this spring and takes up baseball full-time

by Wheelhouse on Feb 19, 2026 6:30 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

thats fine

but for the sake of the list THIS YEAR, having him ahead of zimmerman is irresponsible.

by jsmall404 on Feb 19, 2026 2:11 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Whoa nelly

Someone disagreeing with you is not “irresponsible.”

by aCone419 on Feb 19, 2026 3:26 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Says who?

In my oppinion prospect rankings are supposed to rank the most valuable prospects. Not who will have the best year

by FishHead on Feb 20, 2026 9:44 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yes

I was simply irresponsible..my apoligies

by garrioch13 on Feb 20, 2026 4:11 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The guy can hit.

He will be a major leaguer and will probably hit in the .300’s multiple times

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:14 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not really, no

He’s got poor plate discipline 3:1 K:BB ratio and struck out in 26% of his AB’s year. He doesn’t have that much power and he doesn’t steal bases or get on base at an obscene rate. He also plays a mediocre corner outfield.

He might have some tools but he’s got no sense of how to use them. But yeah, let’s slap that ludicrous projection on him and call it a day, anyway.

by NateHST on Feb 19, 2026 6:57 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Plus scouts really don't like his swing

Not to pile on, but I do think projecting multiple .300 seasons in the majors is too far of a stretch.

by jibs on Feb 20, 2026 4:09 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

maybe

I just have a good feeling..I will be wrong a lot in this and that is fine. That probably is a stretch but he may go 3 for 10 in a couple of seasons as a call-up..ha aha

by garrioch13 on Feb 20, 2026 4:14 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah looking over this list again.

i can’t really endorse this.

by daveh33 on Feb 18, 2026 11:10 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Mets

All I looked at was Mets but Holt is way too low Tejada is WAY too high.

by supermets on Feb 18, 2026 11:20 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I like Ruben

I just have a good feeling about him.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:15 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I felt like all of the Mets were out of order

Havens below Davis? Holt below anyone but Martinez, Flores, and Niese? etc.

by JayWise on Feb 19, 2026 11:15 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'd also move up Holt quite a few spots

Given the following facts:
1) he’s probably starting at AA
2) he’s almost certainly going to be a decent bullpen arm at the very least
3) he has the ceiling of a good #2 starter.
4) he seems to be making huge strides in terms of his secondary stuff (for more on this, I’d be happy to link you)

Jays

Seems pretty anti Jays in the rankings. Cecil not in the top 100, Cooper barely in the top 200, no Jackson at all.

Rios is the next Juan Gonzales, thats right, I said it.

by KaoticKlown on Feb 19, 2026 1:06 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cecil just missed

and could be in the top 100. Jackson is too low on my list at 352. If I had more time to comb thru, he would be higher. I actually think the Jays have 6 guys who have the potential to be top 100 prospects.

by garrioch13 on Feb 19, 2026 1:19 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

IRRESPONSIBLE

"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball

jairo heredia?

love to know your knock on this guy…..he put up a very good season with solid ratios across the board as a 18 year old in Low A

good list overall

There are a few that I’m sure are way off..he should probably be up in the top 300.

Freidrich

at 198, I mean its acceptable, but I’m pretty damn high on him. Also, I feel Lorenzo Cain is low, I like him as a top 175-225 guy, what is the downfall with him if I may ask?

by Navi's_Navy on Feb 19, 2026 7:53 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cain

Nice list

Id like to see more if you wouldnt mind. Its nice to see past the usual top 100 lists. I have some disagreements but this list was very interesting

2000?

How could you possibly compile that kind of a list?

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

Fantasy league draft.

I made a spreadsheet to sift out the best prospects using nothing but stats and age. It is very flawed but did catch many guys I wouldn’t have caught otherwise. I read a variety of websites for rankings, scouting reports and just regular stories. I am always looking to gain knowledge on this and am going to try to keep this up from year to year and improve it. I also added some players through a fantasy draft that was conducted recently in a league I just started.

by garrioch13 on Feb 20, 2026 4:32 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That's cool

Your list should improve as time goes on, then, as you encounter better strategies.

Very nice Garrioch

Of course there are many things that I personally disagree with but I still love this list. I really hope that you post the rest of your list. If you don’t will you at least send it to me. This is yadimo from your Dynasty league so you have my E-Mail. Thank you.

I guess I can't complain too much about this list

After all, you do have 8 of the 10 players I’ve drafted so far in the Super Sickles Keeper League higher than the level at which I drafted them. You do have some wildly optimistic views for some of them, but I sure hope you’re right. By the way, my two “misses” were Neftali Feliz picked 11th overall (you have him 27th), and Anthony Slama picked 190th (not in your top 300).

Please be right please be right please be right

I'm not real high on Slama

He is very old for his level, though he dominated. I prefer Rob Delaney if you are looking for a Twins relief prospect. Slama could surprise though and come out of nowhere a la Neshek.

Pretty cool...

That you’re going so deep.

I’ll make a comment towards the Braves prospects, since those are the ones I follow most closely.

I don’t see DeVall ahead of Jeff Locke, Randall Delgado, or Kris Medlen. DeVall was the first choice in our draft but he has to seperate himself from a whole slew of quality lefties. I put a lot of weight into performance, and obviously DeVall hasn’t really had a chance to do that yet. And from what I know, Delgado’s stuff ranks right up there with Teheran’s, Teheran is just a year younger and is supposed to have better mechanics. DeVall is the type of pitcher I like, I’m just not high on him yet, compared to the other pitchers in the organization.

I put a few FYPD

guys higher than they should be on most lists. I also went that way with some of the international guys like Ruben Tejeda. I’m new to this and it’ll be fun “perfecting” it.

Surprised Tommy Hunter would be that low

given that he had quite a bit of success in AAA. And the whole A-MLB in one year thing.

How did you formulate a ranking for Tae-Kyeong Ahn? I know you spreadsheeted it, but I hadn’t seen any stats from Korea and to my knowledge he hasn’t pitched outside of instructs in the States yet.

josh satin NYM

i won’t even try to decipher his overall ranking but satin is ahead of other mets prospects francisco pena, javier rodriguez and nick evans(!)? i like him but i don’t know about that, i’d drop him quite a bit lower.

Questions

This partially answers my first question about how you compiled the list:
___________________________________________________________
“I made a spreadsheet to sift out the best prospects using nothing but stats and age. It is very flawed but did catch many guys I wouldn’t have caught otherwise. I read a variety of websites for rankings, scouting reports and just regular stories. I am always looking to gain knowledge on this and am going to try to keep this up from year to year and improve it. I also added some players through a fantasy draft that was conducted recently in a league I just started.”
______________________________________________________________
But what sort of stats did you use and did you weight them at all? In other words, what were you looking for to determine that one pitcher is higher or lower and one hitter is higher or lower? ERA? K/BB ratio? GB%? HRF?

Second, for what ultimate criteria were you grading? Upside as a major leaguer? Likelihood of reaching the majors?

And third, were you considering ancillary factors such as level or closeness to the majors? injury history and probabilities?

I do not mean to suggest you should have done any or all of that. Just wondering what you did do?

by bobr on Feb 21, 2026 8:27 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Spreadsheet

I used basic fantasy baseball stats because I originally did the spreadsheet for a fantasy league. OBP, runs, RBI, SB, SLG, TB, and age compared to league for hitters.
ERA, K, BB, Saves, wins, whip, age compared to league. I prorated all of them based on at bats and innings pitched.
I rated them on a variety of things. It’s hard just to state a general philosophy. If I did this for a living or had the time I would like to give a small excerpt on each person and a grade/rating on peak and probability of them reaching their peak…maybe someday.

Great job on the list. It is always nice having alternative perspectives on rankings.

Awesome list--just a cherry-picked throught

I find it interesting that you are so low on Aaron Cunningham after he put up such a good season in 2008 split across AA and AAA as a 22-year old.

Is it because he’s not a toolsy player? It’s just interesting that people keep expecting him to fail and each year he does better. He’s putting up good averages, IsoPs between .185 and .200, his plate discipline got much better last year and he has above average speed.

Cunningham

I like him, but I can’t put him higher than I did. I think he’ll be a useful MLB player, though.

by garrioch13 on Feb 22, 2026 5:52 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

So you think that the 161 people ahead of him will also be useful MLB players?

All 161 have a chance and many below him do also.

Rankings aren’t who has the better career when all is said and done, because I have no clue. None of us do. Just my ranking, nothing more. Ask the Pirates if Moskos is better than Weiters. They ranked him that way and bet large sums of money on it. I’m just doing it for fun.

Wow

Even if you disagree with the order, these are just prospect ranks, hardly an exact science. The sheer fact he compiled this many names is staggering and awesome.

Boston players too high. Betances way too low.

Nope. not a sox fan

The only team I can claim to be a fan of is the Twins. I just don’t like Betances or Brackman who are two of their better prospects. I love Montero and like Jackson a lot. I like DeLeon and Calderon and a few of their other lower level prospects, too.

it might increase the trade value of my minor leaguers:

12 Gordon Beckham
16 Elvis Andrus
23 Dexter Fowler
105 Mike Main
