Tyler Mann

I know he’s been held down a lot by injuries, but is still only 20. Worth any thought?

locker

Not going to write about Locker at this point.

by John Sickels on Nov 19, 2025 8:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

locker isnt going to play baseball...

hes a projected first round pick in the NFL draft right now..

by matthewmafa on Nov 19, 2025 9:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

He's actually projected as the #1 pick in some drafts.

Bye bye baseball.

First we had a Salmon and now we have a Trout, let's see the same results.

Yeah, he is for some reason.

Athlete, he is.

Pro quarterback, not so much.

I’m banking on it.

allliman

Alliman and Flores look rather marginal to me at this point. I don’t think Statia will hit.

by John Sickels on Nov 19, 2025 8:56 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree.

Statia is 100% glove. Flores put up good numbers but didn’t back it up with the K rates, so I have to assume it won’t continue as he move’s up. Alliman made it for plate discipline and speed, but neither are worthy of him being a prospect to watch at this point.

Young Il Jung?

He’d be interesting, at the very least because it was so hyped when he signed.

Jose Perez?

He missed most of the season but, man, did he make the most of his four appearances at the end of the season.

+1

I like Perez. 3B Luis “Nacho” Jimenez - he of the .299 ISO - should be back from injury for 2010. Anthony Ortega remains interesting, assuming he’s put his arm troubles behind. Eduardo Soto is a deep sleeper. Angel Castillo, Jeremy Moore and PJ Phillips all have some of the best tools in the system. Moore and Castillo especially could have big years. Gabe Jacobo played a phenomenal 1B this year, and I think he’ll bounce back with the bat.

Also, did you intentionally list Sandoval as a 2B? Obviously the bat plays best there, but I don’t think the Halos have committed to him as anything but a third-stringer at the keystone. He played the position only 3 times with the Bees, despite getting 3 games there after his September call-up.

Not that he should be in the top 30, but ss Jon Karcich might turn some heads next year. Pop-ups killed him in the Pioneer League, but he’s got a nice blend of tools and skills. Don’t know where he’ll get the opportunity to play though, with Rolando Gomez looking like the front-runner for the Cedar Rapids job.

Will Smith

looks like he went the way of Bob Zimmerman…

by Rev Halofan on Nov 19, 2025 8:18 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Baudilio Lopez should be top 30, let alone top 40

Revision

OK, this looks better. This is 42 players…I’d really like to cut it back to 40. Fuller is a logical one to drop, although i still think he has a chance to develop.

It could just be me

But I really think Jimenez and Ortega should be on the list. Boshers, Haerther, Jung, F-Rodriguez, and possibly Rife all seem more marginal to me in comparison.

Tobin went down with TJ surgery in early June

So he’s another guy who could be left off.

David Carpenter?

Top 10 draft pick, impressive numbers, good size. Seems worth discussion.

by mac37203 on Nov 20, 2025 9:57 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Luis Jimeniz & Tim Kiely

I ’d like to see both these guys make the list.

I'm ready to see the real list!

changes

Haerther is out. Jimenez is in.

Tobin’s TJ surgery gets him cut for space reasons.

Which Jimenez?

Which Jimenez is now in, John … Luis or Eswarlin?

Real nice DSL season for the 17-year-old hurler E. Jimenez:

Fifteen starts, 88 IP, 2.57 ERA, just 20 BB’s & 1 HR. Strikeouts are a bit modest at 55, but a WHIP of 1.1 for any kid young for his league is pretty impressive (and we all know southpaws don’t need as high a K rate to portend future success, right?).

Six innings per start is pretty sweet for a teenager, even at the lowest pro levels; I’d have the guy in the Angels’ top 35, maybe even 30.

what's the scouting report

with the difference in strike zones down in the dsl, i think to give a dsl guy a nod would be based off scouting reports.

by toonsterwu on Nov 21, 2025 3:00 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

He's interesting, but you've got to take that park into account - it's murder on hitters, wonderful to pitchers

Just trail back a couple of years and look at starters’ ERA’s. You’ll find mid to high 2’s to be the norm.
