Scott Kazmir shouldn't pitch the rest of the series
I think Price is a better option right now. I think the Rays should trade Kazmir for a big bat such as Prince Fielder.

He's wild as hell and his control was terrible this year
He also can’t make it past 5 innings in half of his start.

OK
If he is so bad what makes you think that they could get a big bat for him?

Joe Madden also needs to kick BJ Upton in the ass for not hustling
Both Uptons have that problem which is why I don’t see either of them reaching their ceilings.

He doesn't hustle, so he's not insane
Although I don’t agree with the fact that a Kazmir for Fielder swap is a good idea.

You don't watch him play then. Because he absolutely does. He's the best player on the Rays.

He's killing the Rays with his two double plays tonight
Might be the reason they lose the game. Longoria is a far better player.

You haven't watched them both play enough. BJ Upton will hit for the same average, same power and walks a whole lot more. Will steal 40 more bases than Longoria and plays awesome CF defense.
And his second double play he absolutely hammered the ball. I mean killed it. You can’t blame him for getting unlucky. It could easily have tied the game.

He has been accused of not running hard enough
There are probably whole articles on this topic

I know. I live in Tampa. He gets ripped for it all the time. I've watched probably 130 game this season.
Doesn’t mean it’s right. BJ Upton has been singled out. Should ha always run hard? Yes. But he’s not the only one that doesn’t do it.
Carl Crawford in a game against the Royals publicly complained about playing CF. Then during that game allowed Mark Tehan to score from first on a single right up the middle because he jogged to the ball. This run turned out to be the game winner and started the Rays 7 game losing streak before the ASB. That’s just one example. He was not benched and that was far more egregious than anything Upton has done.
Is Carl Crawford lazy?

WTF?
How many times THIS YEAR has he been benched for quote unquote “not hustling?”
Three?
He’s a good player. No one is denying that. BUT he absolutely has been known to not hustle all the time.

Just what I was thinking...
It’s a rumor if Bravesin07 posts it here…. I consider it fact when the player’s manager benches that him multiple times for the offense and the player has publicly apologized for not running hard.

And I'm saying that he's been singled out. Because I've seen instances where other players not hustling have cost the team and nothing was done.
I documented one with CC. I’ve also seen Dioner Navarro jog and get thrown out on a double play by a step when, as slow as he is could have still beat it out. He was not benched. Was he reprimanded? I have no idea, but it’s unlikely that he gets pulled because it would leave the team without another catcher.
Yes he’s jogged, so has ever other player on the team at some point during the season and none of them have been benched. I’m saying he’s been singled out to some degree.

And it's asinine to suggest that not jogging on a ground ball will cause him to not reach his ceiling, which was really what I was taking exception too.

It's a sore spot with me. Because for all the national media slurping him this postseason (even before he went off)
the local media regularly rips him. He’s the subject of unrelenting criticism on talk radio in Tampa for no good reason. He’s grouped with Dukes and Delmon, because of circumstance when he’s always been regarded as a leader throughout his minor league career.
And other players, specifically CC is untouchable when he does very little better than Upton. He has refused to play CF when he could have helped us a lot there while Delmon and Dukes, who aren’t good corner outfielders were running out there last year. This year he played one game there, complained that he was “blindsided” by being put there. Jogged and ultimately cost us the game and then said the reason he pulled his hamstring (which he pulled that game) was because he was out of position. Not to mention he whined to the media about hitting 6th when he hadn’t played in a month to start the playoffs.
While he’s struggled defensively on the infield, Upton has been willing to play anywhere to help the team. Never publicly complained about being hurt (didn’t tell any media member he had a torn labrum despite being criticized about his lack of power) or complained about moving positions.

Kazmir
He hasn’t looked like himself all year, he can’t control his breaking pitches and his velocity seems to be down, there has to be something wrong with him, he’s better than this.

Bitching
Sorry, but it’s two out in the 9th inning… 2 two strikes on Crawford… Lidge hasnt and will not be touched last night… so, whats the story for Timmy Mac and J Buck?? “If Crawford gets on his speed is DANGEROUS!!!!”
Uh, the story that nobody is touching Lidge and even if Crawfor did eak out a walk (which he didnt) the next guy is probably going to strike out anyways.
Way to be on the pulse of the game guys :-)
Ok, bitching over.

Do I get to complain too? I want too. Utley was struck out in the first inning and Lidge should not have been in the game because the Rays should have already won the game.
I complained about it at the time, but here is indisputable visual evidence:
