Barret Loux worth the risk?

I was just offered in my 30 team keeper league (in which looking forward to next year) a pretty tough trade:

I send: Ubaldo Jimenez SP

I receive: Barret Loux, Thomas Neal, and Conor Gillaspie.

I'm nervous about losing my best pitcher however he has been injured for a while and i don't know how serious that is.

I'm not especially a Gillaspie fan but if he could provide a good average and steals in the future, i'd be happy. Barret Loux really scares me due to his uncertainty among prospect evaluators. Thomas Neal, I don't know much about other than he's a top ten Giants prospect.

What should I do? Are these prospects really worth it? What would you do?

Loux is the only one of those with any chance of racking up significant fantasy points… if his arm doesn’t fall off. If you feel compelled to trade Ubaldo, you should get a lot more than that back.

+1

not even close to a sure return on investment out of any of those three.

Obviously rules and values differ by league

But I traded Ubaldo for Pomeranz and two first round picks in the upcoming prospect draft, and this was considered a fair deal by most in the league. Considering all three of these pieces have more value than Loux, the most valuable piece in this trade, I’d say you should be asking for a LOT more.

Hmm...

I checked this an hour or two ago, and the poll was 24-2 in favor of keeping Ubaldo. I think the owner who is trying to do this trade in your league just voted 52 times…

Yeah thanks for the advice everyone.

I was stupid to even consider trading Ubaldo without receiving two blue chip prospects.

Yeah your crazy...lol

Barret Loux should be the worst guy in any package for Ubaldo; not the best. Get rid of the other two and ask for a top 75 guy and a top 40 guy to go along with him and maybe you have a deal, but even then it would be hard to part with Ubaldo.

Since were talking Loux .....

The way he is pitching will AZ regret not signing him knowing they got bradley instead?

Absolutely not

in a million years. And this is coming from a very serious Rangers fan.

We would need to sign Bradley first.

I survived the 2004 & 2010 seasons.
Goldschmidt is AWESOME

That would certainly...

be the key to making this a good decision.

If the ink dries on Bradley's contract

Not at all. Loux’s success is a cool story and all, but he still needs to conquer the Double-A test (the biggie for college arms with established performance track records at big schools) and hone a third pitch.
