Twins top 30 (post draft)

Anybody obvious I'm forgetting?

I too also assume a few of the draft picks form the June 2010 draft will sign as well (bot not DeAndre Smelter)

  1. Kyle Gibson     Grade B+
  2. Aaron Hicks             B
  3. Ben Revere           B
  4. Wilson Ramos       B
  5. Miguel Angel Sano (now has 2 Hr's on year for DSL Twins)  B-
  6. Alex Wimmers        B-    (2010 1st round pick)
  7. Adrian Salcedo      B-    (should only go up form here, VERY good talent)
  8. David Bromberg  B-    (many of the same rates in AA this year, lack of GB's though)
  9. Liam Hendriks        B-    (having a big breakout year in 2010)
  10. Danny Valencia*    (In majors right now, but still qualifies)  C+
  11. Carlos Gutierrez       (Ground Ball specialist)
  12. Joe Benson             (ehhh? I'm confident he'll come around)
  13. Deolis Guerra           (got demoted back to AA, but dominated in that first start)
  14. Angel Morales          (rather disapointing year so far, #'s still not bad but in single A, HUGE speed)
  15. Rene Tosoni            (playing hurt so far this year, in AA)
  16. Niko Goodrum           (2010 second rounder)
  17. Chris Parmelee        (former 1st round pick looks like a DH, 1B, RF platoon type)
  18. Trevor Plouffe*         (Baltimore Orioles have shown interest in Plouffe available for trade?)
  19. Anthony Slama        (should get chance in majors this year, #'s are outstanding, as always)
  20. Billy Bullock            (looks like a potential dominant late inning reliever)
  21. B.J. Hermsen          (good young pitcher in Single A, has NO K's though)
  22. Max Kepler             (Huge talent German OF prospect hasn't played yet)
  23. Matt Bashore          (2009 sandwhich round pick, so far injuries have stung the south-paw pitcher)
  24. Tom Stuiffbergen     (Another single A SP, right now MUCH further along than Hermsen)
  25. Eddie Rosario         (2010 4th round pick, high ceiling OF)
  26. Rob Delaney           (AAA reliever)
  27. Yangarvis Solarte    (do-it-all AA infielder)
  28. Michael McCardell
  29. Kyle Waldrop         (Really good sinking ball AAA reliever)
  30. Pat Dean               (2010 3rd round pick, finesse lefty with 91-92 MPH FB)

H.M. :  Steven Singleton, Brian Dinkelman, Danny Rams, Michael Tonkin, Loek Van Mil

I would put Wimmers...

as a B and their 3rd prospect. He has really been underrated. I think his stuff is actually really good and he knows how to use it. Could make it to the majors fast and be a good number 3 starter.

ETHAN MARTIN!!!!

sano

is not too high, if you are talking about prospects.

Just because he’s young and a ways off doesn’t make him a lesser prospect.

Twins paid this kid 3 million for a reason, they aren’t one to throw money away. He’s got legit power.

yeah I'd agree about Sano

He’s an Extremely high talent some people have him as high as 3rd in this system.

Wow Blackburn makes nearly identical money as Baker does now....

IFA's are lottery tickets

They paid that much because they had to compete with other teams for his services. I have no doubts that he has tools, but what kind of skill he has is a complete question mark. He is a C+ and to be honest, I think I prefer Max Kepler.

no

kepler is a solid spect, sano is a legit top 5 prospect, kepler top 20 twins prospect. His power is more than real. Ball jumps off kids bat.

Sano is certainly not in my top 5 for the Twins

They were both C+s to start the year and nothing has changed.

oh well

I can guarantee you the Twins brass has him in their “top 5” they aren’t a team to throw money at a kid that age if they dont think he’s a future star.

His upside is unmatched in the system, hopefully he reaches it.

bruce pugh

I’d also put him on this list, I like him better than most twins pitchers on that list save a few.

He has legit strike out stuff, throws 93-94. Has had a 10 and 12 K game already this year. He’s really breaking through. I can see him being a quality starter. He’s got a little injury right now, not thought too be too serious.

+1 on Bruce Pugh

I always seem to forget him
he’s defiantly a top 30-35 guy IMO….
yeah he should be on there. I could see him pitching in AA before the year is out. Amazing

Wow Blackburn makes nearly identical money as Baker does now....

also

I think Daniel Ortiz/oswaldo arcia both have solid upsides…ortiz was a early round pick in 08 I believe, showed a good bat, before injury last year. He’ll be in E-town this year.

Arcia, showed a real good, bat and could be a good one. I’d probably put them over rosario.

Maybe give Jorge Polanco a honorable mention too, Twins dont shell out 750 k to anyone.

Love Arcia

Only reason he’s not higher is because he hasn’t played this year. He’ll do well in short season or rookie ball.

My Guys: Gillies, Pacheco, Drabek, Verlander, Ozuna, A Salcedo, S Rodriguez, and others.

I like this list a lot more

Sano is still too high for me, but at least he isn’t in from of Wimmers and Salcedo.
