Carlos Santana to the Indians, tonight? Buster Olney says yes

Via Twitter:

Buster_ESPN     The Carlos Santana Era is set to begin: The Indians' catcher has reportedly been called up to make his debut tonight.

This is the 3rd major debut this week(or fifth, depending on how you feel about the Pirates duo of Tabata and Lincoln).  I for one am very excited for this debut, Santana has been killing the International League to the tune of .316/.447/.597 with 13 HR and a 45/39 BB/K ratio.

Predictions on what he does tonight?  I'll say 1-3 with a BB and a 2B.  We might have a Santana-Strasburg showdown on Sunday!

I'll hate Manny Acta if Santana doesn't play against Strasburg

I have 2 tickets for Sunday

and I will send my wife onto the field to fight Acta if Carlos rides the pine.

I'm real excited.

Carlos can flat-out rake. he’s got power, he’s got patience. he’s got it all.

He's good

Not often you see a guy collect more BB’s than K’s. Unlike Wieters, I see a guy in Santana that can dominate from the start.

So you still see Wieters dominating then?

Because it seems like a lot of people are losing faith.

Would you guys still take Wieters over Posey and Santana?

Posey? No. Then again, I am not a big Posey fan.

Santana? Close call. I think Santana will have less power than Weiters, but I do think he will have a higher OBP thanks to his patience and contact rate.

Nah...

PECOTA’s .311/.395/.544 with 31 HR and 102 RBI for Wieters before 2009 was hardly dominating!

What?

All I said was Santana’s patience will help him dominate from the start. How is that revisionist history?

I still love Wieters for the long-term.
