i've been voting taylor for a while.

i’m gonna write in rogearvin bernadina (though i think i just voted for adam moore). bernadina has the ability to hit for a high average and for gap power. he can steal a ton of bases at a good rate, and play adequate defense. he’s a lesser denard span, apparently.

Rickey had nicer legs than Hitler. And more melanin in his skin than the entire Gashouse Gang.

"lesser denard span"

Sounds like Charles Thomas.

by aCone419 on Jan 16, 2026 2:14 PM EST to parent up reply reply   0 recs

he's got a better track record than thomas

more tools; speed in particular. he can play CF, too.

so, no, not charles thomas.

also, what the hell happened to charles thomas. i’m guessing he had a major injury towards the tail end of 2004 or the beginning of 2005. either that, or steroids. or it could be both. either way he had a hell of a year for atlanta, and then fell off the table.

maybe i just really like bernadina, but he;‘s gonna be a sparkplug whenever he debuts. and considering lastings’ awfulness in CF, that could be very soon.

Track record

He doesn’t have a better track record record than Thomas; that’s exactly why I made the comp. They both had terrible minor league careers until having a batting average driven breakout in their mid-20s. And Thomas could play CF. And was fast.

So pretty much exactly the same, only RB steals more bases.

What happened was Charles Thomas was a complete fluke. Also, see Pete Orr’s 2004 season vs. the rest of his career.

charles thomas topped out with 18 SBs in A ball

maybe i’m buying too much into a consolidation year, but i think he’s gonna be a pretty damn useful part for a while.

it kinda sucks that i like him so much, but i guess that’s canceled out by the fact that washington isn’t gonna be a threat for as long as ryan howard is a phillies.

As I said:

So pretty much exactly the same, only RB steals more bases.

Speed and SB are not the same. Thomas was plenty fast.

Elbert Question

Is he going to be in the rotation or pen long term? Have the Dodgers addressed their intentions (assuming health)?

Lou Marson

I know we love the shiny new thing around here and John is not especially high on him, but I have to think at this point it’s at least time to have him as a tester…

+1

stellar defense, and has shown us a bat lately

I voted Antonelli

But given the choice, I’d take Marson.

My next three:

Scott Elbert
Mat Latos
Kyle Drabek

all high upside pitchers with question marks

Wilson Ramos

He is Waaaaaay overdue IMO

He is the best catcher in the minors not named

Teagarden
Weiters
Santana

Not sure about that, but he's got my vote here.

Better catchers...

Posey, Montero, Salome, LuCroy, Ramirez

by Pelferized on Jan 16, 2026 9:13 PM EST to parent up reply reply   0 recs

well

Montero and Ramirez won’t be staying at catcher. And I’d rather have Ramos than Ramirez anyway.

I would take Ramos rounds before Salome or Lucroy.

I would concur that right now Posey is the better prospect, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Ramos surpass him.

Off the top of my head, I would rank the catcher prospects as Wieters, Santana, (Montero), Posey, Skipworth, Teagarden, Ramos, Arencibia, (M. Ramirez), Lawrie, Rosario.

by gogotabata on Jan 17, 2026 8:05 PM EST to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Oh yea and

arencibia, flowers, and Lawrie

by Pelferized on Jan 16, 2026 9:14 PM EST to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Ok I give you

Max Ramirez and Buster Posey

I guess I sort of forget to ‘count’ Ramirez given the fact I see him never playing in the minors again. EVER

and Buster Posey I would say IS a better prospect or minor league catcher right now than Ramos, but After that I REALLY think Ramos is the next best catcher.

Look at his Winter league stats people, plus the stats from 2008 and even before all that.
if Skipworth, Arenciaba, Solome, and Flowers are all on this (our) list ahead of him fine but than
to me
Ramos is one of the most if not the MOST underrated catching prospects out there today.

I might be in the minority here

but I like Skipworth better than Ramos as well.

by Hunt3r24 on Jan 16, 2026 10:26 PM EST reply reply   0 recs

Given that Skipworth's already been elected, I'd say you're not in the minority here.

Eric Hurley, Ryan Tucker

What the hell did Eric Hurley do to piss people off exactly? Its amazing how people on here just forget about a young pitcher if he struggles a bit right away.

Danny Duffy? James Simmons? Aaron Poreda? Chris f’ing Perez? You realize perez isn’t even a starting pitcher right?

I know these lists mean little but, i little basic reasoning would work well here. Tucker and Hurley are both outstanding arms…are young… projectable bodies… succesfull at top levels…. no health problems until Hurley’s pretty minor one this year…btw Hurley even had a few good, big league starts.

by casejud on Jan 17, 2026 3:32 AM EST reply reply   0 recs

Marlins pitching prospects

Tucker and West are both being badly under rated.

I’ve said this before, but Ryan Tucker is already what the most optimistic Mets fan might hope Brad Holt is a year from now. He’s Brad Holt if everything goes right as far as some improved command of the slider and proving he can do it in AA next year. He was as dominating in AA this year as Holt was in short season ball.

West, I can consider knocking down a bit over concern over the fact he has already had labrum surgery. But he was very impressive in Arizona, drawing Randy Johnson comparisons.

I Think It's The Marlins in General

After Maybin at least. Dominguez is probably 30 spots too low, Stanton and Morrison 10-15, and some of their other prospects don’t get any respect. You guys have seen my arguments about Raynor, and I’m glad he actually got on the poll, even if he get destroyed. The Marlins are definitely one of the best systems right now, extremely top heavy with all players that could be in their lineup in a few years.

A noob or n00b is someone that lacks intellegance or common sense, most people think that noob is a word used only in the online gaming world, but in reality it is becoming an ever popular word with teenage society.

a noob could be simply a level 100 running round shouting ‘’WTF DO I GO!?’’ or someone calling someone else a noob and then getting hit with a brick, anyone can call anyone a noob, but normally they are noobs themselves

Adam Moore

He just finished off putting up an OPS of .900 in the Southern League, which is not exactly a hitters league. He also has a strong and accurrate arm, with the only real negative being he has some issues with his recieving skills still. It is rare to find a catching prospect with this kind of offensive potential that looks to be at least average defensively, easy fit at this point for me.

by tdot mariner fan on Jan 17, 2026 2:57 PM EST reply reply   0 recs

Should note in comparison

Antonelli’s overall OPS last year was lower than Moore’s this year despite playing in two hitter’s leagues(for those expecting a return to form). Cedric Hunter just had an OPS of .800 despite being in the California league. Ramos had an OPS under .800, though he was in pitcher’s league and is younger, but he does have a worse K% and K/BB ratio.
