Alright, so I'm still considering different options at #2. My top target is still Kolek. The kid works in the upper 90's, he's hit the 100's a few times. Sharp slider, and a curveball that should come along. He's been my favorite for awhile. On the other hand, I'm still thinking about going with someone else at #2 to save $ and be aggressive later in the draft.
Draft board for #2:
RHP Tyler Kolek
LHP Carlos Rodon
LHP Brady Aiken
C/OF Alex Jackson
LHP Kyle Freeland
SS Nick Gordon
The Marlins have 3 picks within the first supplemental round, and Round 2. #36, 39, and 43. At that point, I'll be drafting a mixture of arms and bats. I won't be exactly looking for one certain player.
Options at those three picks:
2B Forrest Wall
SS/3B Jacob Gatewood (not exactly sure of his draft stock right now)
RHP Luke Weaver
RHP Michael Kopech
RHP Jacob Bukauskas
OF Michael Gettys
OF Derek Fisher
OF Marcus Wilson
SS Ti'Quan Forbes
RHP Keith Weisenberg
1B Braxton Davidson
LHP Mac Marshall
LHP Justus Sheffield
RHP Garrett Fulencheck
1B Casey Gillaspie
LHP Kodi Medeiros
The list is in no particular order. For some reason, I really favor HS kids with the tools, even if they haven't translated those tools into the games yet. I'm very high on Gatewood and Gettys, and I'm somewhat skeptical about them being available when I get to pick again. Wilson, and Forbes intrigue me quite a bit. Raw players that would need a lot of seasoning in the minors, big boom or bust type of pick, but I'm all for that. Weisenberg is another favorite of mine. Quick riser, very polished, and projectable as well.
Questions, comments, ideas, let me know, I'll be here!
