Please Rec this post, I humbly ask of you.
Here is a good article on the ms recent drafts and, need for this year by Jason Churchhill...nice piece
I want to see some more community inpu on this first Seattle Mariners - Seattle MOD 1 - accomplished a couple of good things
1) It generated a lot of good discussion on the top pick, with the consensus showing a few favorites emerging: SS- Nick Gordon, C/3B/OF- Alex Jackson, OF- Kyle Zimmer, RP- Tyler Beede emerging as early favorites from the poll, and SS-Trea Turner, LSP- Kyle Freeland, and RSP- Grant Holmes also in consideration. There is room for a darkhorse too emerge as well, I am still gathering info and putting more eyes on players.
2) We named Halve12 as my assistant GM (thank you Man, and welcome aboard!). He contributed a preliminary draft board, which I will post below, along with a fresh, new poll, with some new names on it that like hear thoughts on below. I will also include a couple of other recent draft boards.
Here are the nearly official picks (we could get another pick if a team signs Kendrys Morales but, perhaps not likely), and slot amounts for our picks on Saturday, May 31st.
1st - pick 6: $3,575,900
Competitive balance pick (after round 2) - pick 74: $760,300
3rd - pick 80: $693, 200
4th -pick 111: $471, 400
Below, I am posting Halve's draft board for discussion, as well as soliciting individual thoughts on those players + a few others that intrigue me as candidates for the pick.
Also, I'd like to hear from anybody on anyone who you think is a sleeper, who would be considered for picks 74, 80, and 111. I have some guys I like already but, I want to hear more names, and more thought on other players. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and, enjoy!
