2, Eric Hosmer, 1b Kansas City Royals (57%)

3. Michael Pineda, P Seattle Mariners (38%)

4. Dustin Ackley, 2b Seattle Mariners (41%)

5. Desmond Jennings, of Tampa Bay Rays (47%)

6. Jeremy Hellickson, P Tampa Bay Rays (49%)

12. Jason Kipnis, 2b Cleveland Indians 29%

13. Cory Luebke, P San Diego Padres 19% (59% runoff)

14. Paul Goldschmidt, 1b Arizona Diamondbacks 26%

15. Danny Espinosa, 2b Washington Nationals 36%

17. Aroldis Chapman, P Cincinnati Reds 56%

18. Wilson Ramos, C Washington Nationals 38%

Star-divide

The voting breakdown after Ramos was: Chris Sale 19%, Salvador Perez 14%, Mark Trumbo 11%, Henderson Alvarez 8%, Mike Minor 5% (write in), Vance Worley 3%, Allen Craig 3% (write in), Josh Collmenter, Kenley Jansen and Aaron Crow all at 0%

I'm going to keep the standard at 4%, so Josh Collmenter, Kenley Jansen and Aaron Crow are dropped. We'll start permanent drops in a couple of rounds but all of these guys will be back in a few rounds. We'll bring back Mike Minor, Jose Altuve, Lucas Duda and Zach Britton.

In rotation: Danny Duffy 0% (round 15), Dayan Viciedo 0% (round 15), Ivan Nova 0% (round 16), Jordan Walden 0% (round 16), JD Martinez 0% (round 16), Allen Craig 0% (round 17), Jemile Weeks 0% (round 17), Kyle Drabek 0% (round 17), Ben Revere 0% (round 17), Mike Carp 0% (round 17), Vance Worley 3% (round 18), Josh Collmenter 0% (round 18, Kenley Jansen 0% (round 18), Aaron Crow 0% (round 18)

We'll give Juan Nicasio his first time on the ballot this round, leaving as possible future testers:

Alex Cobb, Jordan Lyles, Jerry Sands, Dee Gordon, Craig Gentry, Lonnie Chisenhall, and Al Alberquerque.

As always voting is by +1 and there are places below to suggest testers or vote for players not currently on the ballot. As I am planning on taking this out to 25 rounds and then stopping, at this point there is no guarantee that everyone on the testers list will get a chance to be on the ballot. If you think that one of the players on the testers list particularly deserves to be on the ballot you can note that below.

So who is your number 19 prospect for future performance among last year's rookies?

I think I'm leaning Minor

but Cobb and Nicasio are tempting too. This is the most recent article I found on Nicasio’s recovery in a quick search, has anyone heard more?

There are rumors that Nicasio could be back in time for Opening Day

Troy Renck (Denver Post Rockies beat writer) has been consistently saying that Nicasio continues to recover physically at a miraculous rate and that nothing’s out of the question in terms of his timeline for return to baseball.

Of course the big question is how well he’s recovered mentally, which no one will know until he gets back into a game environment.

Go Juan Nicasio

Am rooting for him in a big way. He’d have been off this list easily for me if there were any assurances about his health going FW.

hard to assess his future

We discounted Strasburg a few spots for his injury last year, but TJ surgery is obviously a lot more predictable than Nicasio’s injury. Seemed like time to put him out there, and if he fully recovers he could more than earn a spot somewhere in the teens on this list. Given everything though, it’s going to be hard for him to get a spot in the top 25. Hope it turns out well for him.

Possible testers at some point

Tyler Chatwood, Kyle Seager, Eric Thames

I'll say, +1 on each

Pretty dang good ballplayers to have niot been mentioned thus far Matt. I thought of mentioning Chatwood and Thames botgh but, forgot to.

Perez was pretty impressive.

He smashed the ball which obviously hit over his head but doesn’t hurt when ranking him based off his performance. Not to mention at 21 years old he is already one of the top defensive catchers in the game. O yea his arm is awesome!

Also if Chris Sale gets mentioned then Aaron Crow and especially Greg Holland should be close to him..Even though he was 25, Greg Holland was one of the best relievers in all of baseball and Aaron Crow should be close to Sale as well even though Sales numbers are a little better, and that is with Crow not having a very good second half.
