Trade Sandoval for Lind?

I need help in consideration of this trade. I'm in a league where you are allowed 8 keepers (6 + a class A and a class B),  plus 8 minor league keepers. Under the current rules, under 225 major league AB qualifies as a minor leaguer, under 550 AB or 180 IP as a Class A, and under 1100 AB or 360 IP as a class B.

Keepers:

Ryan Zimmermann, Pablo Sandoval, Hanley Ramirez, Nelson Cruz, Roy Halladay, Ben Zobrist, Andrew McCutchen (A), Clayton Kershaw (B)

Chris Tillman, Bud Norris, Mat Latos, Christian Friedrich, Madison Bumgarner, Julio Borbob, Kyle Blanks, Scott Sizemore.

I needed power in my outfeld so yesterday I traded Ellsbury for Cruz because I thought my whole outfield was just fast with no power. Since I have a third baseman in Zimmerman and I am using Pablo Sandoval at first. Now I know he isnt as valuable as using at third base because he doesnt have enough power, but I am wondering if you guys think I have enough power now or if  should trade Pablo for Lind to get even more power and then take a chance and try to draft Butler or Berkman as my first baseman. Please let me know your input before I do this trade. I think I am happy with my team now that i got power in my outfield, but I wanted to know your thoughts.

Bingo.

Not even close.

If you’re using Sandoval at 1B he’s not as valuable as at 3B… pretty middle of the pack at 1B. Trading him for Lind is a wash at best, though. Id keep Sandoval… and claim temporary insanity when I made the Ellsbury trade.

I would keep Sandoval over Lind

I actually like the idea of getting Cruz

He’s a nice power/speed combo for the OF. I just think you could have gotten an additional piece out of that deal as well.

I would also keep Sandoval rather than trade him for Lind. We pretty much saw Lind’s peak last year, whereas we likely have not with Sandoval.

+1

I like Cruz as well….always take the power/speed guy over the speed guy.

And I see Pablo going yard a few more times in 2010. I wrote about Sandoval over at Fake Teams here-.http://www.faketeams.com/2010/1/4/1232340/who-would-you-rather-have-kevin

Check out Fake Teams as I will post an article on Cruz on Sunday morning.

Is Sandoval still considered a catcher in your league?

If so then I wouldn’t even consider it.

Your power...

is ok.

Sandoval might get 20, Zimmerman might get 25. Ellsbury I think could have fetched a little more than Nelson Cruz, but Cruz is pretty good. he could go 35-35.
H. Ramirez is probably a 30-30 guy, and if you believe in Zorbist…20+.
you seem to have a balanced team on paper I wouldn’t worry about it. See where your team goes, as you can always make mid-season deals.
