Contributor Recruitment UPDATE
UPDATE: Several people have sent me inquiries regarding writing opportunities for the website. I AM interested in recruiting writers and contributors. However, the infrastructure to fully support this is not yet in place. Please hold off on inquiries until I give the word that I'm starting to recruit. I'm greatly pleased that so many people are interested. Trust me, it will all be worth it, but I have some ducks to line up first.

Be careful
Please don’t go crazy with contributors. Obviously we are all here to enjoy your insight and information on baseball and my biggest fear with these recent posts is that the site will become cluttered with other peoples take and that will make your posts (which will be the only ones I will read, despite being a twins fan and having read some of Seth’s stuff, I’m not here for him) hard to find.

This Is A Community Based Site
Not a John Rules All site. The point of a community based blog is to make it, well, community based. I’m sure John can’t do this all himself, and other writers will take pressure off of him to make good content.
Long time lurker, new time poster.

So all community based sites should publish primarily content from the community?
While yes it is community based, this is John’s site. People primarily come here to read John’s work and the occasional good fanpost. Chris is absolutely right, John needs to be careful not to water down his product with contributors people don’t really care to read.
I think less is more in this instance. John should only add as many writers as he needs to keep content flowing on a regular basis. I think he should also be very strict on who he adds to his team. I don’t want to say he should only stick to people who align themselves with his thoughts/theories on baseball but they shouldn’t strive too far off.
Nothing wrong with adding a couple of occasional contributors to help make things easier but I think there is a fine line before you start turning people off.

Exactly
I didn’t post my comment as a bashing of others or of John’s idea as much as a fear I have with a change that is taken to far.
I use to read a blog that I enjoyed very much and a few weeks before it stopped there was an addition of 8-10 new contributors (prior to that it was just one person) and the site became so watered down and difficult to navigate for the primary content I gave up with it.
I trust you John and I thank the lord you are here doing what you do because this is my favorite site to go to everyday. You bring great content and commentary that goes above and beyond anywhere else.

don't worry
Don’t worry….this is still mostly going to be me on the main page. But I have been doing this for almost six years, and I need some help if I am going to avoid a massive burnout.

Is anyone allowed to send an inquiry when you are ready?
