Apples and Oranges
If you were picking in the second half of the first round of the 2009 draft, and you had narrowed your choice to one of the following players, who would you pick assuming both are available?, Matt Hobgood (hard-throwing right-handed prep pitcher from California with plus stuff) or Jared Mitchell (raw-but-improving LSU outfielder with blazing speed and power potential)?

Re: Mitchell
I really liked Mitchell when he started hot at the beginning of the season - but I’ve SERIOUSLY soured on him as the season progressed.
He started the season w/ a BA in the mid-high .300s and with twice as many walks as strikeouts (roughly - it was like 21/12) and was 19/21 in stolen base attempts.
He now has a 51/60 BB/SO ratio and is 34 out of 42 in stolen bases. That drop-off tells me “pass.”
