2011 World Series Game Six Discussion Thread

Lance Berkman of the St. Louis Cardinals (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images)

I am sticking with my prediction that the Cardinals win tonight 6-3. Lance Berkman will be the hero tonight, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and four RBI.

I tell you what

If the Cards end up losing, they really only have themselves to blame. They have left a TON of runners in scoring position in games 4-6. The errors, baserunning mistakes and managerial gaffes have also contributed, but the lack of timely hitting has been an absolute killer.

Call me old-fashioned, but when a team commits three errors in a potential World Series elimination game, I tend to feel like they don’t deserve to win.

You're not doing a bit from The State are you?

This board can be pretty on point with their off the beaten path pop culture either way.

Great game though obviously. (& I am pulling for Texas more than a little..)

I hate the Cardinals (I'm a Cubs fan)...

but holy-blankin’-blank, Batman - that was a great game!

Mike Napoli

Am I the only one who thought Napoli had surely snapped an anklebone at 2nd base? Nasty to see.

And then he stayed in, kept hitting, and picked off Holliday in what should have been the play that irrevocably swung the momentum Texas’ way. If he has a good game 7, he oughtta be Series MVP even if the Rangers lose. (I know. Ain’t gonna happen.)

One strike away..in both the 9th and tenth? Insane.

I'm shocked it wasn't fractured. Completely shocked.

I've never been so happy to see Mr. Sickels be wrong about something

His prediction may have been off - they’re just for good fun anyways, and my headline is meant in good jest - but that game could not have been more incredibly awesome. Now if only Baseball Nation will get the score right on their recap. :-P (It says 10-9)
