True or False

Bryce Harper will be better than what Josh Hamilton was supposed to be before the off field issues derailed him?

Ride the tiger...You can see his stripes but you know he's clean.

is this in bad taste?

seeing that Hamilton supposedly fell off the wagon? I’m all for calling people out, but let the man deal with his disease. Then we can see if he has been truly “derailed”.

by JoelGuzman'sScout on Feb 3, 2012 1:37 AM EST up reply actions

not prejudging what will happen now

But I think it’s fair to say that Hamilton was derailed for several years before getting his career back on track.

Not actually affiliated with whygavs.

by WHYG Zane Smith on Feb 3, 2012 8:37 AM EST up reply actions

fair enough

but he “got back on track”, did he not?

he was rerailed in spite of his personal issues. which is why if he were drinking that that would, in my opinion, be in a bit of bad taste.

by JoelGuzman'sScout on Feb 3, 2012 8:38 AM EST up reply actions

right

I can’t look into James’s heart, but I saw his question before I saw anything about Hamilton’s recent relapse, so I thought he might have been referring to his earlier problems rather than what might be about to happen.

Not actually affiliated with whygavs.

by WHYG Zane Smith on Feb 3, 2012 9:40 AM EST up reply actions

yeah

i was referring to the original issues from when he was in tampa bay… it is just a coincidence that the re-relapse took place around the same time. really i just wanted to know if harper is viewed by scouts or industry experts as a player with higher upside then that of hamilton.

Muhammed Ali wouldn’t be pouring the beers.

Trevor Bauer

Whats the likely-hood he reaches his ceiling of a top of the rotation starter? Do you have any concerns over his delivery and injury related to mechanics with him? Are we looking at Lincecum 2.0?

Next Great Leadoff Hitter

Which prospects, regardless of position, are most likely to become the next great leadoff hitters?

Andrelton Simmons

What is his ETA and projected triple slash line in his prime? Love to know if his progress with bat last year was real.

How much

wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood?

by jedjethro on Feb 3, 2012 9:46 AM EST reply actions

The amount of wood that woodchucks would chuck on a given day varies greatly with the individual woodchuck. According to a Wall Street Journal article, New York State wildlife expert Richard Thomas found that a woodchuck could chuck around 35 cubic feet of dirt in the course of digging a burrow. Thomas reasoned that if a woodchuck could chuck wood, he would chuck an amount equal to 700 pounds.
Some say it depends on three factors:

* The woodchuck’s desire to chuck said wood.

* The woodchuck’s need to chuck the aforementioned wood.

* The woodchuck’s ability to chuck the wood when it is a woodchuck

"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."

Rendon

John, where do you personally think the Nationals will play Rendon once he is ready? 3B or do you think he could handle 2B? Do you still see him as a 20-25 HR guy or did his Junior year plant a seed of doubt in your mind about his power projection moving forward?
