INTERESTING STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Boston Red Sox rookie Sam Travis went 2-for-3 against the Baltimore Orioles and is now hitting .500 (7-for-14) with a pair of doubles in his first five major league games.

****Detroit Tigers prospect Eduardo Jimenez has received a 30-game suspension for his role on a Sunday brawl between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Dayton Dragons in the Midwest League. Four other players were also suspended but Jimenez’s sentence was the harshest punishment by far.

****Milwaukee Brewers prospect Lewis Brinson hit two homers yesterday for Triple-A Colorado Springs, going 3-for-5 overall. He’s currently hitting .314/.401/.529 for the Sky Sox with six homers, five steals, 19 walks, and 35 strikeouts in 140 at-bats.
