Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, June 6th, 2017.

The 2017 MLB Draft is one week out and I’m buried in draft prep at the moment. Here’s your daily discussion spot for minor league action.

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Monday discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED MONDAY

****Chicago White Sox prospect Lucas Giolito finally pitched like Lucas Giolito is supposed to pitch, throwing six strong innings for Charlotte against Durham in Triple-A International League action, giving up one run on five hits, walking two, while fanning 11. After a rough start he’s pitched better in his last five games, with a 2.57 ERA in 28 innings and a 26/9 K/BB. He’s still only 22.

****St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Luke Weaver has been excellent all season. He blew away Triple-A hitters again last night, throwing five shutout innings for Memphis against New Orleans, giving up two hits and one walk while matching Giolito with 11 strikeouts. He now has a 1.84 ERA in 44 innings with a 49/7 K/BB. He’s obviously ready for the majors.

****The Iowa Cubs pulled off a triple play yesterday.
