"The League" is a highly-competitive, 20-Franchise, 12-Man Keeper organization that is seeking a knowledgeable and committed replacement Owner in the very near future. The vacated franchise should afford the new Owner a solid foundation that includes many cornerstone players….but make no mistake: building a contending team in The League requires substantial work and energy, and (almost assuredly) will not happen overnight.

We are looking for a sophisticated, dedicated, and passionate Owner who is in it for the long haul--and yes, there is a competitive interview process. The League is not for everyone. If you play primarily to seek wild, 15-player blockbuster trades, you will be disappointed: there hasn’t been one here in at least five years. If you are the type of Owner who could lose interest in a 14th Place squad at Memorial Day and who, in maybe 17th Place in mid-August, would simply walk away to get ready for Fantasy Football, please save yourself (and The League) the trouble. Finally, if success in other leagues has led you to become too overconfident, dismissive of rules and fair conduct, or disrespectful of other Owners, you will find yourself alone around here--quickly.

But if you love baseball, and find yourself motivated by difficult challenges and by a goal more likely than not to elude you for a long time (but which will be VERY satisfying to attain), we want you. If your experience to date has not included managing a Minor League system as well as an MLB Roster, and this is something you want to pounce on to better your development, we want you. If you find yourself coming up with ideas or concepts about ways a league can be improved, we want you. Even if to date you are no more than fair-to-good in the Fantasy results you have achieved, but you play this game with knowledge, a desire to improve, sportsmanship, and passion, we want you.

The League maintains a year-round message board hosted by Proboards and there is no shortage of participation (41,665 posts, and counting, after 10 years). As a group, we actually spend as much (or more) time during the offseason on ways to improve our league as on ways to improve our teams. An ideal Owner is also someone who will be active on the Proboards site and also meet participation standards during a playing season. An ideal Owner is someone who is already thinking about 2018.
