Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Monday, October 30th, 2017. Here are some highlights from weekend Arizona Fall League action.
****Oakland Athletics prospect Logan Shore threw four solid innings on Friday against the Glendale Desert Dogs, giving up one run on three hits with three strikeouts, leading the Mesa Solar Sox to a 5-1 victory. Cleveland Indians prospect Bobby Bradley hit a home run in the losing cause.
****Atlanta Braves prospect Ronald Acuna hit two homers for Peoria Javelinas in their 9-8 win over the Salt River Rafters. Teammate Josh Naylor of the San Diego Padres system also homered. Milwaukee Brewers prospect Corey Ray went 3-for-4 with two double sin the losing cause.
****New York Mets farmhand Mickey Jannis struck out five over five innings of work with two runs allowed for Scottsdale in a 6-5 win over Surprise. Jannis is older than the typical AFL talent at age 29 but had a decent year in Double-A.
****New York Yankees prospect Billy McKinney went 2-for-5 with four RBI for Scottsdale in a 11-3 stomping of Surprise. Teammate Brantley Bell of the Cincinnati Reds system, son of former major leaguer Jay Bell, went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.
****Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Matt Beaty hit two homers for the Glendale Desert Dogs, though they still fell 9-6 to the Mesa Solar Sox. Houston Astros prospect Kyle Tucker went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for the winners.
****Braves prospect Austin Riley hit a three-run homer for Peoria in a 10-4 win over Salt River. Fellow Brave Max Fried threw six shutout innings, fanning five.
