I am now beginning work on the Atlanta Braves Top 20 prospects list for 2018. The next team in line is the Kansas City Royals, to be followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Yankees.
Use this thread to discuss the Kansas City Royals organization. Some possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:
****The Royals finished at 80-82, third place in the American League Central Division. What do you foresee for 2018? Will they hover around .500 again? Challenge for the division lead? Or will they sink back below .500?
****The Royals face key decisions this winter, notably regarding Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas. How hard should they try to hold onto them? Do they need to embark on a complete rebuilding project, or can the holes on the roster be patched?
****If you knew Dayton Moore was reading this, what is one piece of advice you would give him regarding the minor league system?
****Jorge Bonifacio: is he someone you commit to long-term? Can he improve from the .255/.320/.432 line he posted in his rookie season?
****What do you make of Whit Merrifield?
****As always, feel free to share your prospect sleepers or anything else Royals-oriented.
