Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Dynasty Trade Offer (mostly prospects)

20 team dynasty league (6x6 scoring)

(BA, HR, RBI, R, SB, BB) (W, S, HLD, K's, ERA, WHIP)

I've been offered the

#4 overall MiLB pick & Randall Delgado

for

#17 overall MiLB pick, Jhoulys Chacin, and Eddie Rosario

Star-divide

The draft consists of last years draftees and international free agent signings.
The only 2 people who were already owned are Yu Darvish and Gerritt Cole.

So the #4 overall pick would be anyone else: Rendon, Bundy, Bauer, Hultzen, Cespedes, Lindor, Bradley, etc.

Is it worth it? If so, how would you rank these guys?

I don't think you will get much at #17

So I think this is essentially Chacin and Rosario for #4 overall and Delgado.

Let me just say up front that I am not a fan of going after high school pitchers in fantasy.

I’d rank em:

Rendon
Bauer
Bundy
Hultzen
Cespedes
Lindor
Bradley

I’d be pretty surprised if Rendon or Bauer are around at #4 so I think you are looking at Hultzen, Bundy, Cespedes, Lindor, or Bradley.

This is a close one. I could see it going either way. I think if you are going to do it you have to try to hit a home run. That means Bundy and it’s iffy if he would still be there at 4. I don’t think it makes sense for you if you are picking Hultzen or anyone else at #4.

My 2 cents.

If you do the trade

Your roster is built to win now so I would aim for Cespedes, Bauer, Rendon, or Hultzen, in that order.

by jaroche6 on Feb 14, 2026 11:49 PM EST reply actions

And, yes, I would likely do the trade

Also, you may consider Bauer over Cespedes as it seems your rotation may have more holes than your lineup, plus Bauer is younger and a stud of course.

"Your roster is built to win now"

Wouldn’t that be the argument for keeping the Chacin side, to help the big-league club now? No guarantee Delgado doesn’t stay in AAA most of this year, and Rosario is turning into a monster bat at a MI position.

I say don’t do it…

Delgado = Chacin

Rosario is a long-way off and the pick at #4 can impact as soon as 2012.

My mantra in trades: you always win if you acquire the best player.

Well . . . most of the time ha. This is one of those times imo.

Delgado = Chacin???

Are you sure? Prospects are never a slam dunk. Just because someone is on a top 100 list does not mean they are better than a guy in his mid 20’s who has already done it. Delgado’s ceiling may very well be Chacin (who has already been there done that).

by emoofb on Feb 15, 2026 9:25 AM EST up reply actions

Just my opinion

I am not sold on Chacin and in fantasy baseball I think he is only average. Average pitchers are expendable. I think Delgado has a chance to be above average or at least average, therefore, factoring in the greater risk associated with Delgado, I would say they are even in my mind.

"My mantra in trades: you always win if you acquire the best player."

I agree, I just don’t feel that Delgado is necessarily the better player. At least for the next 2-3 years, my money is on Chacin.

If Bauer is there at #4, I might concede that...

But I think Rendon, Bauer, and Bundy are off the board by #4 - after that, I might still take Chacin, keeping short-term interests in mind.

You are forgetting about Cespedes

I would not even consider Bauer at #4 to be honest. He is just too far away. I would take Rendon, Bauer, Cespedes, and Hultzen over him.

Being from Minnesota

I would want to have Eddie Rosario, the next Robinson Cano

I'd do it

and select Bundy at #4. FWIW I’m not big on Delgado so I’m basing this more on the value of the #4 pick than anything else.

by Chris Buckley on Feb 16, 2026 7:54 AM EST reply actions

I think you're missing the point

it’s unlikely that Bundy will be there at #4.

Darvish and Cole are owned, so the top 4 remaining are Rendon, Bauer, Bundy, Hultzen, etc.

I cannot see a situation where Rendon-Bauer-Bundy aren’t the top 3 taken in some order.

So it’s basically:

Delgado & Hultzen

for

#17, Jhoulys, and Eddie Rosario

Feedback

I’m in the pro-Jhoulys Chacin camp (like dr. beer above) & I don’t see Randall Delgado or Danny Hultzen having more than a middling shot at bringing back appreciably higher value than what Chacin is now in a category based game. Assuming Trevor Bauer will be off the board (& also that you don’t want to wait on Dylan Bundy & Yoenis Cespedes isn’t in the field), I’d go with Chacin, the intriguing Eddie Rosario (no matter what the position, he’s a worthwhile lower level flier) & start scouting for that 17th pick. I think somebody like Mike Mahtook, Sonny Gray, Chris Reed, Kolten Wong &/or Tyler Anderson would be a good target as I really value proximity & favor college types. You’ve got a veteran team - play for today.

there's nothing for me to miss

Bundy goes undervalued in many minor league drafts because he’s a high school arm drafted into an organization that has a very poor tracking record when developing pitchers. it’s not a foregone conclusion that he will be off the board at #4, unless something has changed in between the time you posted and I replied.

Also Idk why you’ve made up your mind that Hultzen is the way to go, looking at your roster you have more pressing needs for high impact position players, I’d go Starling if in fact Bundy was off the board. You’re major league pitching should hold you over, your minor league batters is your true weak link. Unless you’re missing that, which it appears you are if you’ve already decided Hultzen is the way to go.

Who needs good minor league batters

when you have a top 100 player at every offensive position in a 20 team league?

by smk1363 on Feb 16, 2026 2:35 PM EST up reply actions

i dont know what to say to this

it’s kind of funny, kind of sad, 100% the wrong position to take regarding any position in a dynasty league, I really hope no one else shares this premise. You’re not set up with a plethora of young talent approaching prime that is projecting to put up peak performance over the next 4-6 seasons, you have 4 batters that I’d be excited about going forward, 2 starters, 1 bench guy, and 1 spect. If you don’t realize offense as a whole is your weakest link going fwd then I probably can’t help you. It’s pretty clear that the O is really lacking and I’m not saying your pitching is all that deep either but you’ll get by longer with your current pitching staff than you will with that lineup.

i think everyone here is too down on hultzen

good deception (read higher perceived velo) on his pitches, excellent command, still plenty of present velo for a lefty (works low to mid 90s, bunch of 93-95s in the futures game) plus change-up and an above average breaker. throw in that he’s gonna be quick to the majors and pitches in safeco

i like hultzen WAY more than i like chacin. Chacin’s K/9 plummeted last season, walks are still too high at 4 per 9, his BABIP was low last season, his swinging strike % has fallen every year since his debut….

i voted for and reaffirm the #4 is the best player, whether you get lucky and have bundy slip to you, or you have to take hultzen, thats gonna be the best player in the deal
