Schedule

The good news is that spring training games have begun, college baseball is ramping up, and there is a lot to talk about. Here is how I see things going for this week.

Tuesday: this is a research/background day for me, though i also hope to have a Career Profile for Nick Blackburn up in the afternoon.
Wednesday: Should have another front office interview ready to publish and Spring Training Prospect Notes
Thursday: Prospect Smackdown and Spring Training Prospect Notes
Friday: Prospect Smackdown and Spring Training Prospect Notes

I haven't decided which players to pick for Smackdowns yet but will get this updated when I decide.

Players for the smackdown

Jeremy Hellickson of Tampa Vs. Kyle Drabek of Toronto

If you can't pay em' trade em' and pay for someone else

Some smackdown suggestions

Juan Nicasio vs. Albert Campos (Rockies internationals)

Garrett Richards vs. Tyler Skaggs (Former-Angels. If DBacks could have gotten Richards, should they have?)

Rubby DelaRosa vs. Tyler Chatwood (GBs with some questions)

Jerry Sands vs. Jaff Decker (west coast all-bat types with questions)

Robbie Erlin vs. Chris Balcom-Miller (soft tossers. Who can maintain success? Obviously Erlin is LHP, but still)

Brandon Crawford vs. Chase D’Arnaud (glove-first SS?)

Trying for some more atypical options, and even if the exact players aren’t necessarilly conducive to the smackdowns, the ideas intrigue me (success of glove-first SS prospects, success of low-minors soft tossers, unrefined GB pitchers like Pelzer from a few years ago, and then I just like Nicasio/Campos/Richards/Skaggs and love any info I can get on them).
