Rob Neyer Joins SB Nation

As many of you have heard by now, Rob Neyer has joined SB Nation and will be anchoring our major league baseball coverage. I first met Rob 18 years ago when I started working as Bill James' research assistant. We've worked together first at STATS and then at ESPN.com, so we've known each other for a long time. Bringing Rob on board is a huge coup for the SB Nation family, and I'm glad to be working with him again.

This is massive.

It was amazing when you came on board, John, too. It’s still a little unreal that I’m writing for the same network that is now home to the two most prominent names in baseball that I read in my formative years of baseball love.

Probably the best thing for all parties

The man is probably too hip for The Four Letter Network
Congrats to SBNation. Don’t hit ESPN too much so I haven’t been reading him much lately. I certainly will now.

John Carlson: A real American hero taking names and settling scores.
Souldrummer: A regular guy trying to join Adam Dunn, Jordan Zimmermann, and Garrett Mock as one of RobBobS' guys.

Not too much a fan of his making a career from cherry picking others articles

To make them look like fools. He has interesting things to say but I find there is a blatant lack of respect or a feeling of superiority.

I first exchanged emails/ideas with Rob about 15 years ago. We’re of the same ilk - long time, relative geezer baseball fans who were compelled to acknowledge, then give creedance to, the newfangled metrics that are sweeping the land.

Glad that I’ll still be able to read your stuff somewhere, Rob.
