Florida Marlins Organization Discussion

I am now working on the Seattle Mariners. The next team up is the Florida Marlins, to be followed by the Chicago White Sox, then the Milwauke Brewers, then a break so I can rest up my weary brain and fingers and go to Washington DC next week for SB Nation business.

Use this thread to discuss Marlins prospects.

I am interested to see what kind of grade he gets. Some people are super high on him with the swing he has and potential, but I have also seen him trashed numerous times.

Would it be too agressive of me to say Chad James deserves a B+ grade?

yes

I still like him long-term, and Mike Newman at Scouting the Sally mentioned in a chat that he had heard through the pipeline that James had touched 97 MPH this year, but command obviously needs a lot of work.

I’m thinking B- on him, but maybe a B allowing for context and groundball tendencies?

I have him down as a B

it's a tough call

I like him a lot, but it was a still a rough year.

I think I’ll give him a bit of a mulligan and go B - there were some very good things here, and he could easily break out next year and turn into an elite prospect.

Seriously though, I wonder if its too soon to call Skipworth a bust. Still power potential.

swing and miss?

The raw power is interesting, but is he going to make enough contact to make it in Double A, let alone the majors?

I haven't checked yet, but I wonder how he fared in the AFL.

Your right tho, that contact has to improve CONSIDERABLY.
