Jesus Sanchez was cut by the Phillies to make room on the 40 man roster and was picked up by the Brewers, so hes out.

I would suggest including Jon Pettibone.

Also Derrick Mitchell might be something.

If your looking for exclusions, I dont think Michael Martinez is really a prospect. At 27 years old, he looks to me like a AAA injury replacement. Couple that with the fact that hell almost certianly be optioned back to Washington at some point, and I think you have a pretty good guy to cut.

21 YO LHP (12th round 2009) put together some very nice starts in limited action. Got hit around in four GCL starts after returning from injury, then spun off 8 excellent starts (SSS alert) in the SAL.

1.61 ERA, .82 WHIP, 6.1 H/9, .6 HR/9, 1.3 BB/9, 8.4 K/9 in 56 IP. I’m not pushing hard for him, just was looking at him for a keeper league recently and couldn’t find a lot on him. I also don’t know the Phillies system well enough to suggest an additional cut.

People were also pretty high on B.J. Rosenberg before he got hurt as a “high-leverage” reliever, although since his injury he’s put p some pretty awful stats. Just a thought.
