Schedule and Suggestions

Upcoming stuff: A few more Double-A transition monitors, Borchering vs. Davidson, young pitching thoughts, making sense of Jose Bautista. No more Crystal Balls for awhile, but I am open to other suggestions. When the playoffs get going, I'm going to do a "young talent" breakdown of each team, looking at all rookies or sophomore players in the post-season. There will be an AQA thread opened up tomorrow.

Two Way Players

How about a post on prospects who also played (or are playing) college football? It could just be something straightforward like an analysis of individual guys who are playing football this season (Russell Wilson, Kyle Parker, Matt Szczur, etc.), or it could be something more in-depth on the success rate of those kinds of prospects (looking back on guys like Todd Helton).

I would like to thank you for all the CBs you did

Even though you probably hate doing them! Thank you!

2010 draftees

I’d also be curious what 2010 draftees you think might make your top 50 hitter and pitcher lists, and love insight into how you compile those lists.

just have a feeling

I can’t remember what article it was in, but I recall you saying before the season that you “just had a feeling” about Trout. And look what happened. That iced my opinion of you as an analyst. I’m curious what other prospects or draftees you might have gut feelings about.

Top 5/Bottom 5 review of the farm systems

Which organizations do you feel do the best job developing their prospects and which ones make you cringe?

reminder from a previous aqa

Regarding rodriguez, you wrote "Yes, yes, I know all about his tools. If you go just by tools he’s a top ten guy." Can you name another national league player not considered a top 100 prospect (but one who could reasonably crack the top 50 at some point), besides rodriguez, whom you would consider a top tools guy? And whose tools would you rate higher, rodriguez or this player? thanks.

YOU WROTE:
Oh, that’s a tough question. I can turn that into a larger post. Remind me in a week if I dont

If You We're Farm Director

for the Mets. Very interested in your opinions on a farm system that has really been all over the map under Minaya and even before. From not going overslot to signing internationals to their much maligned (and rightfully so) movement of prospects. I know I’m asking alot but I think if the Mets system were looked at as a whole, it would provide some insights on player development for all organizations both bad and (cough) good….
As always, thanks for the site!

How about an off topic post?

Possible suggestions:

1. Top 5 all time cheesecakes
2. Top 5 all time movies
3. Top 5 all time sports books
4. Top 5 all time top 5 lists

I know you just did something about Kershaw

And because I dont know your method for coming up with the stats, I cannot say you didnt already do this, but something where you feel his career will go?

I don't recall anything

done on Kenneth “Trey” McNutt and he’s definitely been one of the more fascinating overall arms in the minors, succeeding at 3 levels and showing a good fastball/brekaing ball combination to go with decent control and a decent change.

less crystal ball stuff

less stuff on guys already in the bigs. . .
stick with minor league stuff or if people are into the CB’s, do them on guys that are still prospects. . .
