Alright, so in the first MOD, we discussed how the Indians have tended to draft in the first four rounds of the draft between 2009 and 2013. We decided that with the six Indians picks in the first four rounds, we would split them evenly between pitchers and hitters, with a lean towards college players overall (4 out of six). Although, given the depth in HS arms, we also said that going evenly between high school and college players was a legitimate strategy and on the table.
In the second MOD, I laid out a general strategy for the draft. Based on my own draft board, there should be some really good high school pitchers available at picks 31 and 38. According to the poll, people like Kodi Medeiros followed by Cameron Varga. That looks good to me - unfortunately, Medeiros will probably be gone, and Varga could make it to 38. Have to see how things play out on mock draft day.
I will take at least one HS arm with these two picks, and may pick two. Looking at my board, there should be some good bats available to pick from with the second round pick, pick 61. And there should be quite a few good college arms available in the third and fourth round.
So with that all said, here are some potential bats to target in the second round. I will aim to grab a college bat here, unless there is a high school bat too good to pass up.
