Pitches per start in MiLB
Often so much is made about pitch counts in the major leagues especially with younger pitchers. Similarly pitchers in the minors are sometimes said to be held to strict pitch counts as well. Yet for as much importance is placed on this statistic, you rarely if ever see it reported anywhere unless a pitchers throws some obscene amount of pitches in a ball game. Does anyone know of a good site that lists the number a pitches a pitchers throws in his minor league games? Without having to go box score by box score of course. Thanks in advance for the help.

I dont know about the minors, but....
Sports Weekly lists this info for all active MLB pitchers every week. I.e., the avg # of pitches per start. So, USA Today should have this on their website somewhere.
IIRC, the highest avg for any MLB pitcher is around only 107-108 pitches or so. Most starters are in the 100-105 range.
It would be nice to see this for the minors also.

MiLB averages are
somewhat factoring in what organizations permit per start.
10-25-2011. Theo Epstein joins the Cubs. Now, the fun begins.

Thanks
Thanks Guys, I couldn’t find them anywhere either. I guess it is good to know it is not just me. Was hoping someone had a site I just had not come across yet.

Up until 2010 you can find the data you want below
http://minorleaguesplits.com/x_milb/
You might need to massage it though. After 2010 I don’t know where you can find the data. Maybe you will need to write a crawler app to get it.
