Sickels Whines, Francisco Liriano Throws No-Hitter

So, Tuesday afternoon I had an impulse to whine about how the Twins have been playing so badly. I made a random thought post, pointed out Francisco Liriano imploding in particular.

Then Liriano throws a no-hitter.

This is one night when I'm very glad to have egg on my face.

Another thing, I'm really disappointed in how Justin Morneau and Delmon Young have played this year. I'm also rather unhappy about the price of gasoline. And isn't it amazing how I never win the lottery.

Just sayin' is all.

I won

a lottery.

not THE lottery. I mean, I still have bills and stuff. but I did win a lottery to buy a new condo for five figures. veteran with kids, finishing my degree, gas the way it is, not sure how I’d’a made it otherwise…

and I won tonight, too, when Liriano threw a no-no for my fantasy squad…

seriously. why is Jeff Mathis still playing? and why did he get an uncontested RAISE in arbitration?

It was amazing but...

I don’t see this as a turnaround for Liriano. He only struck out two, walked 6, and had a GB:FB of 9:10. Obviously there’s always luck in a no-hitter but the odds of completing a no-hitter while getting only 2 of 27 outs by strikeout is miniscule. I don’t know what happened to the Liriano of last year (who I believe was, for the year, one of the 3 best pitchers in baseball) but he is by no means back.
