Mother
My family had serious reverse gender roles when it came to baseball. My mom got me into it, while my father had to be patient with the two of us!

My mom put a Cubs hat on my head at 4 days old
To this day, she considers it an act of child abuse.

My wife goes in the extremely patient category.
Though no amount of patience could deal with the hours I put into baseball.

my wife
was a softball catcher in school, and my daughters play upwards off 150 games a year between the 2 of em. They all 3 love the game.

fiancee
I took my sports-hating fiancee to the Giants’ fan photo day, where she got to take pictures with Brian Wilson and some other players she found attractive.
It worked, and she loves going to games now!

My mother enjoyed going to Braves games when I was a kid and would always watch me play baseball and later softball.
But I’m the wife in my family :). My husband is a big sports fan, but likes baseball the least. Heck, he even likes soccer better than baseball…and yet I still stay married to him. Anyway, I am usually successful in dragging him to a minor league game if a Carolina guy is playing. We saw Alex White pitch earlier this year and Tim Federowicz and Kyle Shelton play the other day. But that’s about the best I can do with him.
But he’s as patient with my baseball addiction as I am with his football addiction. We’re both incurable college basketball addicts.

I am the wife/mom :-)
Another wife/mom here….. Native Atlantan, life-long Braves fan. Baseball is something that’s just always been there. Can remember as a child getting “All-A” reward tickets to the Atlanta Braves and sitting in top of AFC stadium (literally) when there might’ve only been 500 people in the entire place, in the eras of Aaron, Horner, & Murphy. Now we live in Rome and enjoy the heck out of our low-A Rome Braves. Seldom miss a game. Our son was 5 months old when the Braves moved here from Macon and on opening day in 2003 we sat behind home plate with him an a carrier- he’s been hooked ever since. Now he’s 7 1/2 and a die hard baseball kid/player. We’ve made life-long friends, learned new languages and cultures and done things we’ve never dreamed of doing because of baseball. It’s the best. (sorry, this is probably a longer answer than what you wanted….lol)
